Cheery Lynn Designs Package & Give Away

My Cheery Lynn Designs package arrived, soooo exciting!  I had to share a photograph of my kitchen table with all the dies piled up when I unpacked the parcel.  Wow, what a beautiful array of dies to use.... I have been in my element since the package arrived.
Yesterday, another package arrived with the October new release dies.... can’t reveal them as yet, but do check the Cheery LynnDesigns blog out on the 15th of October when the new Design Team do a combined post with all the new dies.
...and this Tuesday will be my first post as a Design Team member, I cannot wait to share my creations with everyone .... though I have to admit to being nervous.  I'm working alongside some pretty amazing and VERY talented people!!
AND, I have a Give-Away.....
To be eligible for the give away, all you have to do is leave a comment below – telling me what your favourite Cheery Lynn Designs die is! On October the 6th (week from now), I will place everyone’s name into Random.com and find a winner!!  You do not have to be an Australian resident, I am more than happy to post the die internationally.  The winner will receive B127 Tropical Flourish - click on the link to 'see' the gorgeous die!!
Have a happy Thursday everyone....

Dove Garden

This piece is a silk print by Judith & Katherine. I completed this in 2000, photographed in 2002, and even though I have a frame – dare I say it is still waiting to be framed? I’m now wondering how long it will take to complete the “Dove Garden” piece – but on contemplation of this fact, I guess it is better packed and stored in a box, till I know where we will eventually settle…

All the threads, ribbons are hand-dyed and embroidered/flowers hand-wound to create this dreamy picture, which includes porcelain doves. I loveeee the silk prints, as they allow for your own personal touches in whatever area you desire – you can add anything your heart desires.

Black Velvet Framed Piece

I have always been creative, and I recently realised that I really have not shown a great deal of my older ‘work’. Over the next few weeks, as time permits, I will share some of my creations and designs with my blog readers.

One of my personal designs is this black velvet framed piece. It is fashioned using an assortment of my hand-dyed guipure laces, silk ribbons, trinkets, charms, glass seed beads of various sizes, and includes crystals. Each of the silk flowers was hand-made, and hand-dyed.

I love playing with dyes…it is certainly amazing turning something previously plain, into an article that is at times realistic, and full of beauty in colour. Most importantly, one of a kind items that can be created by playing with dyes…

Exploring where we live....

In August we managed to get out and about, exploring some of the areas around where we live.  So, I thought I would share some of the photographs. The one photo of ‘me’ is not being placed up, as John took it while an Emu was chasing me!!!!  It is funny now when I ponder over the memory, but at the time I could have bonked him (and the Emu if I wasn’t so scared of it) on the head!  LOL

Jesse loves birds, he found them fascinating....

I love this photograph, he was just totally mesmerised....

And this cute creature (pig)  just ‘loved posing’ for me ....

Shame I did not get any Kangaroo’s, but they were very lazy and wouldn’t come over to greet us.  Well fed I would say!

Malinki ...

I just had to share this photo, it certainly made me laugh!  Jesse had been playing outside earlier, settling onto the outdoor lounge to have a drink and a read of his book.  Ms Malinki came along and plonked herself in the sunshine, and off to catnap land .... I could not resist taking a photo when I discovered the position she was in.  Not the best photograph as taken on my mobile phone, but was not game enough to go inside and grab the camera just in case she moved and I would miss the moment...

The weather has almost been perfect here!  Beautiful weather is certainly inspiring; my next creation is almost completed...

Exciting News!!! Cheery Lynn DT

Wow, this week I received the most exciting news....  *drum roll* ... I have been accepted for a six month contract in the Design Team for “Cheery Lynn Designs”.
Several months ago, I came across Cheery Lynn Dies through a lovely lady called Pearl, and her website “CraftieCafe” . Oh gosh, I can so remember the first die I ever purchased – running it through my machine, and how utterly impressed I was, not only the quality of the die, but the intricate detail – I have not ever come across a die like this.  I was so impressed, with the quality that of course more dies were purchased.  Pearl sent me to the “Cheery Lynn Designs”website to watch the video tutorials (aiding a great deal of knowledge)  - I also found Cheery Lynn Designs on Facebook and their wonderful blog with all the totally amazing creations from DT members and Guest Designers.
It was a matter of ‘love at first cut’ and EVERY creation I have produced since discovering the dies, has a form of “Cheery LynnDesigns” within it.
When the Design Team call was put up onto the blog, I was like .. “ohhh yeah that would be so cool, working with a product you love so much ... and imagine the creations (brain overdrive)”.... then reality hit, I’m up against all those wonderful, amazingly talented woman/men (well maybe a male, somewhere?) from around the globe.
So, I opted to ‘play’, my creation fell together so easily, and I was very happy with the results – creating something different.  However, it took me several weeks to pluck the courage up to place it up for perusal... all those entries, all that breathtaking talent – I was in awe.  Gosh, I am sure I visited every single blog (all 119), admiring (and I’ll admit to drooling)!!!
I cannot begin to tell you how exited I was when I read the first line of the email when it came in... I was so thrilled, so excited, so ‘over the moon’... I won’t go into details as I will embarrass myself!!  J
However, I will add that I am looking forwards to the next 6 months of creativity – and producing some unique and beautiful designs for a wonderful product and company "Cheery Lynn Designs" – already the brain is in overdrive!!!
Thanks to my dear friends who encouraged me to enter and those who have sent emails congratulating me, and to “Cheery LynnDesigns” for “picking me” LOL....

Toilet Roll Album for my Mum...

My Mum is an artist; she does the most amazing paintings and artwork creations... However, in the past few months she has taken a massive interest in my paper-crafts and is itching to learn ‘everything’ she possibly can.  There have been parcels passing between us left, right and centre with all sorts of wonderful paper/accessories, etc.  My Mum lives in South Australia, and I’m in Western Australia – so thus, a huge distance between us.... so we cannot exactly get together easily.  I miss her terribly so!!
One of Mum’s area of interest was in making paper-bag albums, so I opted to make her another variety using ‘toilet rolls’ to show her how they are created.  I’m sure when her package arrives this coming week; she will adore what she finds in the contents - lots of new products, die-cuts, ribbons, inks, etc to play with.
Last week, I received a parcel from Mum, the contents being fibres of all types from around the globe.... absolutely amazing!
