Autumn Layout - The Scrapbook Store & Bird is the Word Challenge

I have never used Carta Bella papers before, and wow are they gorgeous! The Scrapbook Store sent out a beautiful range of the 'Traditions' paper in my DT kit, including Vintage Tags and Element Stickers. Oh larhh larhh I'm in my element using these pretty papers.

My layout is based on the sketch from Bird is the Word, and this is my take on the
Spring/Summer/Autumn/Winter challenge.  The sketch has a bird on a branch, so the Element Stickers were perfect, as there was a bird, and even a branch!
The photograph is of 'me' aged 4, at the Warby Ranges in Victoria.  My Mother and Grandma used to take us up for a picnic in the 'Warbies' as children, we'd run around the picnic area, enjoy seeing the native Australian plants and wildlife. Often, we would spy a Lyre Bird, and would try and imitate their call.  Our picnics always consisted of fresh sandwiches, they always tasted so delicious as Grandma made them and not my Mum. LOL  We'd also have a huge serving of Grandma's fruit cake, and at times even fruit-juice.  These are very special memories and some of my most treasured.  I'm wearing a jumper my Grandmother knitted for me.  Autumn was always cold in the 'Warbies'.
The Cheery Blossom Die was used to create some flowers to decorate, and I layered them using bandage gauze beneath.  I really love this look, and it gives the layout a little more visual pleasure.
Of course I had to add one of my favourite items to add to my layout, the Skeleton Clock, and lots of other layers, using the Vintage TagsThe Scrapbook Store have a new range of Vintage Charms in stock, definitely worth investigating.
Another item I am enjoying adding to my layouts and projects lately is Burlap String, wrapped around photographs and tied in a bow.   The Scrapbook Store has a large range of various string, cord and twins -  really worth checking out 'HERE'.
The November Sketch Challenge over on The Scrapbook Store Gallery.  The sketch for November can be found 'HERE', and there is a $40 shopping voucher to spend in store, and FREE postage for the randomly drawn winner 'each month'.
Hope to see you over on the Gallery!!

Hi Sandie! This is beautiful indeed! Love all the fabulous elements on this gorgeous layout and I also enjoyed reading your post...I have many treasured memories too and I'm afraid that children growing up today don't have that any more! Your flowers are always so pretty and I agree, the gauze effect is very pleasing to the eyes.
Gorgeous papers!
Hope you're enjoying your weekend!
