Grandparents - My Creative Scrapbook, Limited Edition March Kit

The reveal is happening for the March, My Creative Scrapbook Kit for March!  I worked with the magnificent Limited Edition kit for March ...and ohhh my goodness, what a fabulous line of products. I had an absolute ball in the creating department!  Do call on over to the 'Gallery' for all the design team creations, and some major inspiration.  Don't forget the DT, also do a tutorial on some elements of their work throughout the month too, over on the My Creative Scrapbook Blog.  This month, I created a tutorial on how I make my leaves - which can be seen in this layout.  If you do not have punches and die's - then this is a fabulous way of making leaves for any floral arrangement.
The photograph is of my Maternal Grandparents.  I love this photograph, as it shows the love they had for one-another.  Their lives were wrought with so many heartaches, but through everything they still managed to be happy, and share lots of love.  Together, they raised 8 children, and I lost count of the Grandchildren, and Great-Grandchildren.
I used to hide behind my Grandfather's chair when he was busy watching television (normally the news) - I'd so want to get his attention, so would reach over the chair, grab one strand of his hair, pluck it and RUN!  LOL  He used to chase me, till he caught me and give me a huge bear hug.  I'm amazed my Grandpa had any hair left on his head - this was a regular occurrence.  My Grandma and Grandpa were brilliant piano players, and I used to sit next to them as they played.  I am blessed, so very blessed, to have many, many, wonderful memories of my 'Grandparents'....
and I miss them terribly...
The Limited Edition Kit hosted some Kaisercraft and Websters papers - I fussy-cut a lot of the Websters page elements out and used in my floral arrangement.  Prima metal embellishments can be found scattered throughout the Prima flowers.
A close up of the 'leaves' I created, and will be up later on in the month on the My Creative Scrapbook Blog.  I actually get a lot of questions in regards to my foliage, so thought this would be a great one to do a tutorial on - they are simple and look very effective.
I will be back throughout the month, to show some more creations...
Sandie

This is truly beautiful in every way Sandie. The photo is so very special and the colours and details really work to celebrate the love that your dear Grandparents had for one another and their family.
It is so heart-warming to hear about your happy memories. I too remember my grandparent with such great fondness and feel sad that the passed away before they got to know my children.
Take care
Hugs Sue

Sandie I love that you tell a story with your pages, it really stimulates the imagination and also reminds me of similar times in my life. I adored my grandparents as well and this story was beautiful as was the layout.

Another gorgeous family layout. I always love the stories you tell with your pages, you obviously have a lot of wonderful memories. I love that this page is bright and cheery. We all lose some of the people we love but our memories of them should be happy ones and you've shown that beautifully. Your flower cluster is so pretty, I've tried mixing fussy cut flowers in with mine but it never works for me yet you've done it so beautifully. Stunning!! ox Marg

P/s: Would you consider turning off word verification? I have mine turned off and don't have a problem with spam. It would make it much easier to leave a comment.

Oh my stars. I am in love with this page. I just love how your grandparents photo stand out on the page. Sometimes on a page the photo gets lost with so much going on. But you have a knack of enhancing the photo. Did I say how much I love this. :)

Hey Sandie!! I have missed you so much!!! I was just thinking if there is one thing I can add to my bucket list is to sit and watch you do at least 10 layouts, I would have to stay a couple of weeks, hahahaha ( and hopefully I would have time to learn enough to put it to use before I kicked off, hehe!!!) Your layout is captivating, the color combo makes me feel like going for a walk in a field of flowers, so fresh, bright and beautiful!!!! I love the paper curling up and all the elements are so beautifully put into place. What a sweet picture of your grand parents, you are so fortunate to have such beautiful photos!!! lots of love hugs
