Adore You, Layout - The Scrapbook Store...

This month for The Scrapbook Store, I used the beautiful papers by Karola Witczak, Mintay - 7th Heaven.  Team these with 2Crafty Chipboard elements, Seam Binding, Green Tara Flowers, and Lace, Couture Creations Pearls, and Nuvo's Glitter drops.....perfect combination to be creative.  I added in some torn corrugated board, white-washed with Gesso ... highlighted parts of the chipboard with the mini pearls .... and some fussy cutting from the papers.

The Green Tara 'Tea Roses' are just beautiful, and the set comes complete with matching leaves ....

The image is of my brother, Paul when he was a baby, with my Mum, on my Grandmothers front lawn.  Paul was certainly had no hair, totally bald!!

To The World - The Scrapbook Store...

I'm a little late in showing off my May projects (more coming), Jesse and I have been struggling with 'man flu' - now Dad's also caught it, so its now man flu plus some. My head is still full and I'm still not 100% but of course Jesse bounced back within days - me a week now.  Joys of Winter... and its now upon us with yesterday seeing the first signs of frost....

Anyhow, this month for The Scrapbook Store, I have been designing with the Penelope Dee, Mother of Pearl Papers.  They are just glorious!! I opted to use some fussy cutting, which I have not done for some time now.  The 'beautiful' (name of it) paper was perfect, with oodles of amazing roses.  Teamed with some gauze from the medical cupboard, that was painted with Heidi Swap, Color Shine and Lindy's Stamp Gang mists, and lastly splashed with some gesso - flowers included.  The paper range comes with many sayings, and I cut up several to create my own for a title.

I have had this photograph of my daughter floating about for some time, its a lovely 'selfie' which if I remember correctly I managed to grab off Facebook, and hoped for the best when I printed it that it would be good enough quality!!  I'm pretty sure my two girls were trying to out-selfie-each other... lol Today, Tayla turns 20 - where did those years go!!

Hope everyone has an amazing weekend ...xx

Memories - The Scrapbook Store

This month for The Scrapbook Store, I was sent a deliciously gorgeous lot of goodies to design with - including the stunning Penelope Dee, Mother of Pearl papers, Dusty Attic Chipboard Pieces, Green Tara Lace, and oodles more.  Then the search for the right photograph...

I found an old photograph of my first birthday with my parents.  Its not the best photograph as it is old, and not clear, etc.  However, it is a special memory for me, as my Dad passed away on New Years Eve, he had Motor Neuron Disease.

Before I explain more on my layout, I had an email from a lady who was asking about why I always list a 'chipboard sheet' in my materials list, so perhaps there are more that ask this question as well.  I use the chipboard as a base for my layouts.  Cardstock, even though sturdy, often doesn't support fully the layout, especially if you are using mediums, and lots of embellishing.  All in all, it really is a support base :-) You can find a variety of thicknesses 'here'.

I've used the Penelope Dee papers, each paper of this collection is just stunning, and teamed this great paper range with some corrugated cardboard.  To shabby the layout, I added white paint (not gesso) here, there and everywhere - I was tempted to brush across the Kaisercraft Blooms as well, but did not want a really washed out look, and those flowers really pop.  Green Tara have a lovely selection of flowers and laces.  The Azalea's are stunning and always look amazing in a flower arrangement. Also, The Scrapbook Store, has their own flower range which can be seen 'here' - I have used the 1cm semi-open rosebuds.

Also, this month I'm exploring a new product (to me) Nuvo Glitter Drops, which I used on my title to add glimmer and dimension.  I just adore this product and am looking forwards to trying the Jewel Drops and Crystal Drops.

Have a great weekend ....

Once Upon A Dream, The Scrapbook Store...

It has been a long time since I last posted on my blog, with my life taking a different direction.  My creative road has continued since I last blogged, though not as often, and on a more personal journey and not public.

Recently, I placed a mini album up on The Scrapbook Store's, Facebook, Creative page - You can find that page 'here'. Suzanne sent me an email, and asked if I would like to come back to design for her business, The Scrapbook Store.  Of course, I said yes, and it did not take me long to ponder over the answer!  One of the hardest things about leaving all my design teams, 3 years ago was leaving The Scrapbook Store - it simply was 'the best', the most amazing memories, fabulous design team (with many of the DT still part of it even now), an amazing lot of ladies, and FANTASTIC shopping!

Needless to say I am happy to be back, even if I feel like a duck out of water at the moment... hopefully I will feel more at ease soon, once I get my feet 'wet' again....

So, as my first project for my return to The Scrapbook Store, I created the 'Once Upon A Dream' layout.  My DT contents included the beautiful 'Cherry Blossom Papers' by Prima Marketing, along with flowers, 2Crafty Chipboard pieces, and oodles of other items.  You can see the full materials list below...and all are available at The Scrapbook Store...

Twinkle Twinkle LO - The Scrapbook Store

..and another layout for The Scrapbook Store, using the Graphic 45 - Mother Goose Paper Collection.  Jesse actually helped me create this layout, telling me where he wanted which parts of the main paper Mother Goose to go - he also picked his very favourite nursery rhyme as the title, and aided in putting the whole layout together.

At 3, I think my son is a designer in the making! :-)

He so wanted to get into the fussy cutting side, but I'm afraid I had issues cutting all those flowers out - must go get an eye-check! LOL We added in a Toby (dog) and a Malinki (Burmese cat), but sadly there was no orange cat in the papers, to add a Gizmo.  Jesse kept looking through every paper to find a Gizmo cat.... will have to find one and surprise him.
I've enclosed some close ups below, of the dimension - we had a boo boo with Jesse getting a little bit excited in where to stick magic mount at times, and a couple of places on the photo where I had to scratch the sticky off.  Nothing like a copic marker to cover errors such as that.
This is a really beautiful paper range....
Have a wonderful day!

Friends Layout and You are Loved Card - Lady Rose - Kaisercraft

...and another glorious, elegant paper collection by Kaisercraft called 'Lady Rose'.  A full list of all products and further design team inspiration can be found over on the Kaisercraft Blog, highlighting all the new paper collection this month.

This certainly is an elegant paper collection, with such pretty colour hues.  I opted to do a large floral arrangement, adding in some of the Kaisercraft Pearl Flourishes, and blooms.  My sewing machine refuses to work at the moment (stuck in reverse) so in obvious need of a service. So I hand-stitched the outer edge of the layout just to add a little more visual texture.

The Lady Rose paper collection has some beautiful sentiments to use in layouts and cards, especially for friends.... this particular photograph is not a family member, but simply a beautiful vintage photograph I adored.   My journaling on the back of the layout includes the special cats I have been lucky to have shared my life with, at some point, and their stories.....

Thanks for calling in ...

Christmas 2010 - Gingerbread - Kaisercraft

Morning everyone,

Today I am showcasing the beautiful paper collection "Gingerbread" for Kaisercraft - another beautiful Christmas range, that I used to scrap some of Jesse's first Christmas photographs, and a card.
We had only arrived in Geraldton, from South Australia 3 weeks previous to Christmas, and being Jesse's 1st Christmas I made a real effort to make Christmas special for him.   John had to work, but was home late that evening to celebrate.  I took a series of photographs of Jesse sitting in his bumbo seat using my mobile phone as I still had not found the camera!

In this particular photo, Maliniki is in the background, her eyes glowing in the tree like one of the lights LOL.  It was a little on the nightmarish side with the Christmas tree, with Jesse and Malinki plucking baubles of the tree, and as soon as the day was over, I pulled the tree down. I found baubles for the next week between boxes as I was unpacking!!

The design team have created some amazing creations with this paper collection and the other new releases this month.  Wonderful inspiration for Christmas just around the corner.  Pop on over to the Kaisercraft blog for further inspiration, and a full list of products used...

Thanks for visiting,

Tiny Fingers Tiny Toes LO - The Scrapbook Store

An arty layout, created using the Graphic 45, Mother Goose, Humpty Dumpty paper.  My DT pack from The Scrapbook Store this month included some of the lovely blooms by Peetaloo, so thought I would design a layout around the moss green colour.

I've enclosed 2 photographs of the layout, the 2nd one shows off the gorgeous shimmer and shine in the  Lindy's Stamp Gang Mists.   I used the Random Star's Stencil by WOW as the background and highlighted some of the stars using a black pen (I hate doodling as I always muck them up and if I could, I would remove the black LOL).
The title is a gorgeous chipboard piece by Scrap FX called Tiny Fingers and Tiny Toes, it was perfect for this LO - I have an envelope stuck to the reverse side of the LO, and enclosed is a series of photographs of Jesse's hands and feet as a baby. I used various mediums to paint the title, and then highlighted with Lindy's Stamp Gang Mists.
One of the larger Prima Marketing, Mechanical  Washers was cut in half, and used to edge the photograph.

Jesse looks so adorable in this photograph, so tiny... where have those years gone?

Enjoy your day and thanks for visiting..

Bedtime Story LO - The Scrapbook Store

This month for The Scrapbook Store, I am working with the gorgeous Graphic 45, Mother Goose paper collection, and elements.  The paper collection is seriously gorgeous, with not only brighter colours, but also the more muted too - not to forget the most magical nursery rhyme images.

I used the Ring Around the Rosies paper, and done some major fussy cutting of various flowers and leaves.  Flowers were created using the Die Cut Flowers - they are simple to construct and always look pretty, especially when teamed with layered fussy cut elements.  Yellow adhesive pearls were added to some of the flower centre's to highlight.

I doodled some stitching, really wanted to be more creative in the doodling side, but each time I attempt a doodle, I detest what I have done and have to cover it. Several LO's have ended up in the bin because of my doodling attempts.
The photograph is of me as a child, and the journaling side of this layout is on my favourite story book - written on back of layout.  From a very  young age, my Mother used to read my favourite book to me each night (and often through the day too) - actually I am sure I pestered her to read it constantly.  I was mesmerised with it.  It is called "Pookie Puts The World Right", and it is a beautiful story, and I adored the little creature Pookie.  I still do.  There is a series of Pookie stories, and I am collecting them for Jesse.

Thanks for calling by for a visit...

October Sketch - The Beauty Of Yesteryear LO - The Scrapbook Store

October is here, and I have no idea where September went (flashed by so quickly)!!  Another new sketch is up on The Scrapbook Store Gallery, with a fabulous random prize to be won - entry is via the Gallery and all you have to do is create.

A gorgeous sketch, by Melina Spinks - really adore those branches and had the perfect 'twigs' to use which are The Scrapbook Store's own brand of chipboard.  I opted to segregate the photograph into 3, as per the sketch - it is rather different, and I have seen this done by a few (especially lately) in my blog visits -  I actually really like it.

The Silhouette Cameo was used to create my own splatter stencil - using a SVG file, and acetate.

At the moment I am going through my 'old stash' and seeing what I can use within my layouts and creations.  It is dwindling slowly, and it is a nice feeling seeing my 'old stash' pile go down.

Hope you'll consider coming and joining in the fun of this months sketch challenge!

Dreamy Love Layout - Guest Design for Meg's Garden

Today, I am guest designing for Meg's Garden, using the new release Dreaming In The Meadows paper collection.  Meg's Garden is an Australian, online store, specialising in unique papers designed by fellow Australian, Denise Ann.   The store itself has a wealth of wonderful products that cater for the paper-crafter.  You can also find beautiful creations by the design team on the Meg's Garden Blog,  including product updates, and new release paper collections.

I have had this photograph sitting in my 'photo stack' for some time, wanting to be scrapped.  This paper collection was perfect for the occasion.  I don't tend to work in purple hues often, even though it is a beautiful colour, I often avoid it for some reason. The photograph itself is of a vintage wedding - I purchased the original photograph of Etsy and the writing inscribed on the back, I sadly cannot decipher.  Regardless, it is a beautiful one to scrap.
The Dreaming In The Meadows paper collection, was perfect for lots of fussy cutting - with those fussy cut elements mounted on foam to give dimension.
Meg has a beautiful selection of lace paper doily's which are the best I have ever come across, with such gorgeous intricate detail and available in a vast amount of styles and sizes.  You can find all the paper lace doily's 'HERE'.   The doily's are a high quality, and the intricate details in the doily, can also be easily fussy cut.
Flowers used in this layout, are from Prima Marketing and are an older stock.   They were a perfect match colour wise.  I also used a chipboard title, which has been floating about in my stash for quite some time. I have a box on my work-desk, which I throw remnants, and left over products into, and delve into it on occasion to find that 'special' piece for a layout....

I will be back 'soon', with another creation .... till then, happy creating

My Beautiful Grandson, and Close to My Heart Layouts - The Scrapbook Store

This is a layout created for The Scrapbook Store of my beautiful Grandson, Tyeson.  I absolutely love the Shabbylicious paper collection by FabScraps - it is really just beautiful. The tags from the Die Cut Set  are so sweet, with the cutest images on them - the whole package has gorgeous elements.
The Scrapbook Store - Roses and Leaves as well as Green Tara - Flowers and Ribbon. Aged Shabby Blue embossing powder was used on the Grandson chipboard piece.
Again, I used the Flourish 1 stencil, and coloured using Ethereal Emerald Moonshadow Mist, and also White Linen ink spray - as you can see the stencil is a little deeper than others on the market and leaves a 'higher' impression.  I added in some thin guipure lace around the outside edge of the layout that was in my stash.... just finished this layout nicely.

and this next layout is an 8 X 8, which was perfect for the embellishments and photograph I wanted to use.  I started an 8 X 8 album a few years ago, and I have not added any pages to it for quite some time - shame on me!! LOL
The photograph is from left to right my Aunt Helen (deceased), Grandpa and Grandma (deceased), my Mum, and my brother Paul (deceased) on the bike, with me next to him.

I used the Shabbylicioous Die-Cut Elements and also the matching Chipboard elements as the main focal.  The outside edge was dusted in Victorian Velvet, Distress Glitter - if you haven't tried Distress Stickles yet, it is a must for the shopping list.  You can find all the colours available 'HERE'. Adore the glitter, the chunks, and the shine.
The chipboard window, has a die-cut shape with shutters that fits perfectly over the top.
I fussy cut one of the flower sprays from one of the tag die-cuts and added it to the chipboard jug - really need to keep this page fairly flat to go into my album.
The Scrapbook Store has their own brand of chipboard, and one of the many available are the 'words' - these are some of my very favourite and in one pack, there is ample for a number of layouts in all types of wording - they really are gorgeous.

Happy Creating

Kaisercraft - St Nicolas Paper Collection - Layout and Cards

Another month has arrived, and Kaisercraft have released some tantalising new paper collections!   Today, I am showing the St Nicolas paper collection, which is full of old world Christmas papers - Santa's and beautiful, vintage inspired patterns - right up my alley!

Lots of fussy cutting, and a touch of glitter for the roses...

Gorgeous little birds, resembling Robin-Redbreast's adorn many of the papers, and elements.

..and a card, using one of the many vintage Santa images - they are so sweet!!!
Front of card

Card Inside
Some of the paper elements include ready made sentiments, perfect for making quick and easy Christmas cards.  I highlighted using Gold Stickles, every element used.

...and another card, using another vintage image.... teamed with some Collectable elements, roses, and fussy cut holly leaves.

I don't think I have ever made a centre step card - wasn't as difficult as I thought!!
The next few months will fly by and Christmas will be here before I know it!! Yikes.... where does the year go?

Thanks for coming by to visit, I love reading your comments.. Don't forget to stop by the Kaisercraft Blog for further inspiration from the other design team members...

Have a wonderful day
