Once Upon A Dream, The Scrapbook Store...

It has been a long time since I last posted on my blog, with my life taking a different direction.  My creative road has continued since I last blogged, though not as often, and on a more personal journey and not public.

Recently, I placed a mini album up on The Scrapbook Store's, Facebook, Creative page - You can find that page 'here'. Suzanne sent me an email, and asked if I would like to come back to design for her business, The Scrapbook Store.  Of course, I said yes, and it did not take me long to ponder over the answer!  One of the hardest things about leaving all my design teams, 3 years ago was leaving The Scrapbook Store - it simply was 'the best', the most amazing memories, fabulous design team (with many of the DT still part of it even now), an amazing lot of ladies, and FANTASTIC shopping!

Needless to say I am happy to be back, even if I feel like a duck out of water at the moment... hopefully I will feel more at ease soon, once I get my feet 'wet' again....

So, as my first project for my return to The Scrapbook Store, I created the 'Once Upon A Dream' layout.  My DT contents included the beautiful 'Cherry Blossom Papers' by Prima Marketing, along with flowers, 2Crafty Chipboard pieces, and oodles of other items.  You can see the full materials list below...and all are available at The Scrapbook Store...

October Sketch - The Beauty Of Yesteryear LO - The Scrapbook Store

October is here, and I have no idea where September went (flashed by so quickly)!!  Another new sketch is up on The Scrapbook Store Gallery, with a fabulous random prize to be won - entry is via the Gallery and all you have to do is create.

A gorgeous sketch, by Melina Spinks - really adore those branches and had the perfect 'twigs' to use which are The Scrapbook Store's own brand of chipboard.  I opted to segregate the photograph into 3, as per the sketch - it is rather different, and I have seen this done by a few (especially lately) in my blog visits -  I actually really like it.

The Silhouette Cameo was used to create my own splatter stencil - using a SVG file, and acetate.

At the moment I am going through my 'old stash' and seeing what I can use within my layouts and creations.  It is dwindling slowly, and it is a nice feeling seeing my 'old stash' pile go down.

Hope you'll consider coming and joining in the fun of this months sketch challenge!

My Beautiful Grandson, and Close to My Heart Layouts - The Scrapbook Store

This is a layout created for The Scrapbook Store of my beautiful Grandson, Tyeson.  I absolutely love the Shabbylicious paper collection by FabScraps - it is really just beautiful. The tags from the Die Cut Set  are so sweet, with the cutest images on them - the whole package has gorgeous elements.
The Scrapbook Store - Roses and Leaves as well as Green Tara - Flowers and Ribbon. Aged Shabby Blue embossing powder was used on the Grandson chipboard piece.
Again, I used the Flourish 1 stencil, and coloured using Ethereal Emerald Moonshadow Mist, and also White Linen ink spray - as you can see the stencil is a little deeper than others on the market and leaves a 'higher' impression.  I added in some thin guipure lace around the outside edge of the layout that was in my stash.... just finished this layout nicely.

and this next layout is an 8 X 8, which was perfect for the embellishments and photograph I wanted to use.  I started an 8 X 8 album a few years ago, and I have not added any pages to it for quite some time - shame on me!! LOL
The photograph is from left to right my Aunt Helen (deceased), Grandpa and Grandma (deceased), my Mum, and my brother Paul (deceased) on the bike, with me next to him.

I used the Shabbylicioous Die-Cut Elements and also the matching Chipboard elements as the main focal.  The outside edge was dusted in Victorian Velvet, Distress Glitter - if you haven't tried Distress Stickles yet, it is a must for the shopping list.  You can find all the colours available 'HERE'. Adore the glitter, the chunks, and the shine.
The chipboard window, has a die-cut shape with shutters that fits perfectly over the top.
I fussy cut one of the flower sprays from one of the tag die-cuts and added it to the chipboard jug - really need to keep this page fairly flat to go into my album.
The Scrapbook Store has their own brand of chipboard, and one of the many available are the 'words' - these are some of my very favourite and in one pack, there is ample for a number of layouts in all types of wording - they really are gorgeous.

Happy Creating

Timeless Moments Layout - Blue Fern Studio's Challenge Sketch

I managed to get a little creative this weekend gone, and got to use some newly purchased chipboard from Blue Fern Studio's.  It was hard to pick which piece to use, but the 'Fancy Fob Watch' won.

I have joined in with the Blue Fern Studio, September Sketch Challenge this month. You can find the details 'HERE', and the sketch below.

The image I have used is from a vintage cabinet card, they were very popular in years gone by - and always the most gorgeous, dreamy, images.  With the touch of blue in the image, I actually used some of the Blue Fern Studio packaging beneath the image, as it matched perfectly.  It really does have a gorgeous design on the packaging and I will be hoarding other packs, to re-use as well.

I was very impressed with the quality of Blue Fern Studio's chipboard elements, it is a nice thickness and really took a beating with several layers of embossing/heat,and then paint as well.   I also, used a 'word' stamp across the chipboard, just to give a little more character to the piece.

The papers I used, are left over from my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store - FabScraps, Shabbylicious paper collection.  A full materials list can be found at the end of my post.

The background, was created using a hand-made stencil using the Silhouette Cameo, and some acetate.  It was an interesting process, and one I would attempt again.

Thanks for calling in for a visit, hope you have a wonderful day/evening..

This was the best day ever LO...... The Scrapbook Store

My August DT pack from The Scrapbook Store included the glorious paper collection 'Classic Elegance' by Melissa Frances.  Ohhhh so pretty!!! I have created a vintage inspired layout, using Aged Gold embossing powder to achieve a shabby, distressed appearance, around the edges.

Also, I have joined the Once Upon a Sketch, August challenge using the sweet sketch by Nadia.  The journaling theme this month is along the lines of 'I'll never forget'...

The photographs are of my brother Paul, best friend Catherine and myself as young children.  We were always playing dress ups, and always had such a wonderful time.  I will enclose my journaling below which can be found on the reverse side of the layout  - these memories are some I treasure very much, and hold close to my heart.

Memories stopped for' us' in April 1990, when you were sadly taken from this world.  It was a time where nothing seemed to comfort the grief I was feeling at the loss of my brother.  We cannot create future memories, but I do remember so many wonderful childhood memories as we were growing up....

I remember....

Picnic's with Mum, Grandma and us at the Warby Ranges...

Riding in the back of Grandma's 'Herby' car, going to visit Great Grandma in Yarrawonga - we used to take it in turns in sitting in the very back and used to argue on who would go first...

I remember Autumn fires, burning all the leaves and us dancing in the smoke thinking we were creatures of some imaginary world...

..and the ant houses we used to create from dirt and water.  We would sit for hours on end in just 'dirt', building a world that only 'we' could ever understand....

... and how we used to hide our horrible vegetables in the pantry as soon as Mum's back was turned.  I also remember the trouble we got into when the pantry was cleaned, and Mum found our stash...

The dead-arm you used to gave me when we fought - and how good you were at pulling my pig-tails!

I remember defending you at school and hitting a young fellow over the head with a tennis racket, you were most impressed.

Meeting all the kids that lived in the street, we'd all sit on the back of the truck talking for hours. I cherish the photograph of us all, but sad it is not a good photo.  I remember the time you also fell off the truck, and how frightened we were when you went to hospital.
Swimming in the river on hot Summer afternoons...
Staying up Christmas night to meet Santa....never wanting to burst each others bubbles, that he wasn't real...

I remember the first fish you caught, I was so jealous and wanted to catch fish too, but ohhh no, I was a girl and girls didn't catch fish .... pffffttt!

How mad you used to get if I snooped in your room, and found some ammunition to use as bribery material....this worked both ways.

Your love of cricket, and how good you were at playing....

Walking to school together and you insisted on dawdling all the time....

Loved the times we dressed up and played imaginary figures from cartoons we'd seen on television...

Playing hide and seek, and me finding the perfect spot (on top of the roof of an outside toilet) and you not being able to find me.  I later shared this spot with you, and we used to sit up there and admire the 'world' as it was.....

I remember, our last phone call ... and still to this day, brings tears to my eyes .... it was as if 'we' knew ...

..and I will always remember, and never forget our 'special' memories together as children....

As most of you have probably no doubt worked out, I am totally addicted to embossing at the moment - and had to enclose a close up photograph to show the amazing detail.  The Stampendous, embossing powder set has the most amazing colours in it!!  The title was embossed in Aged Gold, and the below chipboard lattice in Shabby Pink which has flecks of white, pink glitter, and gold - yummy!!  The lace paper doilies beneath the lattice, and the mini roses were coloured using the Interference Red, Perfect Pearls Mist - matched perfectly.
That is it for me for 'now'..... have a great and productive day....and thanks for visiting...

Love is a Beautiful Thing... Always LO and Prima Art Doll Tag - The Scrapbook Store

My last projects for The Scrapbook Store this month, is a layout that I created for my Mother using the Websters Pages, Modern Romance Paper Collection

The Prima Marketing, Mixed Media stamp set was used in corners and the leaves coloured using Copic Markers, and the white cardstock beneath was splattered using Lindy's Stamp Gang, Mist.
The embossing powder is amazing, I am so in LOVE with this product and brand .... the speckled pieces of pink glitter, flat white chunks and gold is just amazing.  You can find all the Stampendous embossing powders 'HERE' and the trial set 'HERE'.
Elements from the papers were fussy cut, and Silhouette SVG doily file was used beneath the photograph.... I love my Silhouette Cameo!!  The little butterflies were something I had printed off the net, and I added some Diamond Stickles to the wings to enhance.

Cherish Captured Memories - The Scrapbook Store

 Hi everyone,

Life has been a busy array of all sorts of late, but I am finally adding a post of a layout I created for The Scrapbook Store, using Websters Pages 'Modern Romance' paper collection, along with some other great products - all listed below.  Several of the patterns were rather bold in this collection, so I adapted and used the various bold pattern elements to suit my style.

The photograph is of my 'other half' - John when he was a little fellow, it is so cute.  He still looks much the same, just a larger version, ummm with very little hair.  LOL
The background was splattered using the NEW products from Lindy's Stamp Gang, Starburst Sprays - you can find them all 'HERE' including the gorgeous embossing powders.

However, for the Imaginarium Designs chipboard title, I used the amazing Stampendous Embossing Powder - ' Shabby Blue' which has elements of white, shimmery blue, and gold ... gorgeous plus!

I just LOVE and I mean LOVE .... these gorgeous Peetaloo flowers, they are beautifully made, look amazing, available in a variety of colours, and are very reasonably priced. - you can find them 'HERE'.  For this layout, I used the 'Textured Ivory'.
I will be back with some more creations soon, and hope to do some blog visiting when time permits.
Happy Creating
Sandie
