Inspirational Dreams Mini Album - The Scrapbook Store

One of my favourite things to create is mini albums and have been making them for many years now.  I mostly use the same methods of making each album, just changing sizes, and adding various types of flap pages, and tag holders.  Most of my learning has come from you brilliant You Tubers, Kathy Orta King and Ginger, from My Sisters Scrapper.  This album I used stack the deck for adding the pages, though I really LOVE Kathy Orta's hidden hinge method.

I've used the Penelope Dee, Mother of Pearl paper collection, which was part of my design team product this month - so pretty!!  The title 'dreams' is from the Dusty Attic Word Pack #17 - you get 4 great titles on one chipboard sheet, bargain. The inspirational and make a wish are from my stash from many years ago and I just had to use as they were perfect for my album.

Out of left over papers, I created some quick cards ....

Mother of Pearl - The Scrapbook Store

Mothers Day has come and gone, and for my own Mum this year I created a ZigZag Card. I originally found this amazing, easy tutorial by Marianne 'here' - it was so simple to create and looks so pretty, open or closed.  I changed a few things to suit my taste and opted to use magnets as the closing option, as a belly band gets worn out in time and often can be difficult (fiddly) to place on the card.

Using the Penelope Dee, Mother of Pearl paper lines from The Scrapbook Store, which were sent to me this month to play with.... These are very elegant papers, with winding roses, and many glorious colour elements, from old world style to the more modern - hard to describe, but you can find them all 'here' to view.... I used an old punch I had for the edges, and highlighted with the pearl strips, by Kaisercraft.  The pearl strips are a great way to decorate, and easily sized for a project, by simply cutting through the adhesive strand.  I do however apply other wet adhesive as over time, these tend to fall off without the extra adhesive.

Life is Beautiful with You in it – Mini Album - Guest Designing for Meg's Garden

Hi everyone,

Long time no 'see' ..... I will still be quiet for now, till my creative side bounces back into gear.  Life has had a few hurdles..(too many obviously), but the road is smoothing out again 'now'. Just know I have thought of everyone and miss you all very much .....and in time, I will be back...

Love to all
Sandie

It was a pleasure to do some guest design work for Meg’s Garden back in Sept.  I worked with the beautiful paper collection called ‘Dreaming in the Meadows’, and due to the size of my project, included some card papers from previous collections of when I was a DT member.  The papers all matched perfectly.

Did you know that Meg's Garden is an Australian business, located in Adelaide with an online store?  The papers are designed by Denise Ann, an Australian designer.

I have been pondering over Christmas gifts for my family, (this was written back in Sept) and know my Mother just loves my Mini Albums.  I was inspired with this album, by two clever individuals – Kathy Orta, and Ginger from My Sisters Scrapper on YouTube.  Both make the most stunning of albums, and I have been itching to make one for some time.  Kathy Orta has created the hidden hinge system which I applied to this particular album, and I used Kathy’s tutorial for the album.
You can find Ginger’s YouTube Chanel 'HERE'...
and Kathy Orta’s Chanel 'HERE'...
These albums do make perfect gifts, and Meg’s Garden stocks the perfect paper sets, and embellishments for such creations.
The album itself has many hidden pockets, including side opening panels, which are held in place via magnets – ample room for photographs, and journaling and even mementos.  The photographs do not do the album justice, and do not show enough of the details, but certainly gives a good indication of what can be made.
I also used the Leafy Foliage die throughout the album for all my foliage requirements, it was perfect and a leaf shape to match each flower size.  I so love that die, and it is available at Meg’s Garden!!!

Friends Layout and You are Loved Card - Lady Rose - Kaisercraft

...and another glorious, elegant paper collection by Kaisercraft called 'Lady Rose'.  A full list of all products and further design team inspiration can be found over on the Kaisercraft Blog, highlighting all the new paper collection this month.

This certainly is an elegant paper collection, with such pretty colour hues.  I opted to do a large floral arrangement, adding in some of the Kaisercraft Pearl Flourishes, and blooms.  My sewing machine refuses to work at the moment (stuck in reverse) so in obvious need of a service. So I hand-stitched the outer edge of the layout just to add a little more visual texture.

The Lady Rose paper collection has some beautiful sentiments to use in layouts and cards, especially for friends.... this particular photograph is not a family member, but simply a beautiful vintage photograph I adored.   My journaling on the back of the layout includes the special cats I have been lucky to have shared my life with, at some point, and their stories.....

Thanks for calling in ...

Another month has arrived, and Kaisercraft have released some tantalising new paper collections!   Today, I am showing the St Nicolas paper collection, which is full of old world Christmas papers - Santa's and beautiful, vintage inspired patterns - right up my alley!

Lots of fussy cutting, and a touch of glitter for the roses...

Gorgeous little birds, resembling Robin-Redbreast's adorn many of the papers, and elements.

..and a card, using one of the many vintage Santa images - they are so sweet!!!

Some of the paper elements include ready made sentiments, perfect for making quick and easy Christmas cards.  I highlighted using Gold Stickles, every element used.

...and another card, using another vintage image.... teamed with some Collectable elements, roses, and fussy cut holly leaves.

I don't think I have ever made a centre step card - wasn't as difficult as I thought!!
The next few months will fly by and Christmas will be here before I know it!! Yikes.... where does the year go?

Thanks for coming by to visit, I love reading your comments.. Don't forget to stop by the Kaisercraft Blog for further inspiration from the other design team members...

Have a wonderful day

Timeless Moments Layout - Blue Fern Studio's Challenge Sketch

I managed to get a little creative this weekend gone, and got to use some newly purchased chipboard from Blue Fern Studio's.  It was hard to pick which piece to use, but the 'Fancy Fob Watch' won.

I have joined in with the Blue Fern Studio, September Sketch Challenge this month. You can find the details 'HERE', and the sketch below.

The image I have used is from a vintage cabinet card, they were very popular in years gone by - and always the most gorgeous, dreamy, images.  With the touch of blue in the image, I actually used some of the Blue Fern Studio packaging beneath the image, as it matched perfectly.  It really does have a gorgeous design on the packaging and I will be hoarding other packs, to re-use as well.

I was very impressed with the quality of Blue Fern Studio's chipboard elements, it is a nice thickness and really took a beating with several layers of embossing/heat,and then paint as well.   I also, used a 'word' stamp across the chipboard, just to give a little more character to the piece.

The papers I used, are left over from my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store - FabScraps, Shabbylicious paper collection.  A full materials list can be found at the end of my post.

The background, was created using a hand-made stencil using the Silhouette Cameo, and some acetate.  It was an interesting process, and one I would attempt again.

Thanks for calling in for a visit, hope you have a wonderful day/evening..

My Creative Scrapbook - Septemeber Reveal Layouts and Cards

Hi everyone,  Its time for the September reveal for My Creative Scrapbook!  This month, I worked with the Limited Edition Kit, which was full of the new release Prima Marketing - Anna Marie.  Also lots of other wonderful items, including Wood icons, Tickets and Tags, Chipboard, Mechanical (metal) New Pendants, Pink roses, Yellow silk flowers, and Wishful thinking flowers.  Kit content image can be found at the end of my post, and to purchase please visit 'HERE'.

This kit is going to be a fast seller, so please make sure you get in fast to order, before it has sold out!

My first layout is of a dear friend of mine, this particular night, we all dressed up in 'days gone by' attire, had a few glasses of bubbly and laughed like school girls all night long.  It was a cold night, the fire was blaring .... and the hours just ticked on by.  We took oodles of photographs, and they are so much fun to look back on.
The 2nd layout is of my daughter Tayla, and myself when she was 'little'... my gosh, she has grown since this was taken.  It only seems like yesterday that she was a little girl, and now she is a woman.  At the time this photograph was taken, Tayla had been pretending to be a tea-pot. When she wanted to disappear, she would put her hand on her hip, her other hand in the air to replicate a teapot spout and would stand as still as anything.  She seriously thought she would vanish and turn into a teapot!  Where she developed this idea I have no idea, but it was a very funny aspect of her childhood for around 18 months. I can still remember calling out 'where is Tayla' .. and the other children would chime in 'being a tea pot'.
Mist splatters, and oodles of fussy cutting ... was a lot of fun creating this LO.
This Anna Marie paper collection really has the most amazing and beautiful papers.  I adore the tiny rose pattern in the layout above and didn't want to waste one little bit.  I also teamed the papers with the packaging from one of the Prima flower packets, as it really matched perfectly and used it to journal on.
The photograph of my cousin Annette, and myself on one of our many treks to Ballet.  Ballet was a big part of my life for 13 years, also tap and jazz ... you wouldn't know it now! LOL
With left over products I created a Friends Tag, and Birthday Card.
A wonderful kit to create with, and I will be returning around the 15th/16th for the September, My Creative Sketch challenge reveal with another layout created using this beautiful kit.

Till then,
Sandie

Remember This Moment LO and Card - Take Note Paper Collection - and Tea Party Collection Creations - Kaisercraft

Another fabulous paper collection by Kaisercraft called 'Take Note'.  I have used this collection to create a layout and card - I love the beautiful green hues of this collection, teamed with various shades of browns, totally delicious.  Lace, Wood Icons, fake stitching (my sewing machine isn't being cooperative withe me at the moment - boo hoo), layers, distressed edges, flowers created from die-cuts, peals, rubons, and more.....

What I like most about the Take Note paper collection, is the paper is suitable for feminine and masculine, modern and vintage - whatever takes your fancy really.  I also really enjoy the wording which is included on many of the paper pieces - wonderful for creating journaling, titles, or even card sentiments as seen below.

The photograph in the layout is of my Grandmother, brother and me, on one of our many trips to the Warby Ranges, in Victoria - we used to picnic there often, when we were young -  and it was a truly magical place with the Aussie plants, and animals.  I've often wanted to return, to see if it still feels and looks the same as when I was young - one day!  I remember that basket (in the photograph) and how it always had a stash of delicious sandwiches, cakes, and hot cocoa. On this particular day we ate cream buns, and somewhere in my photo box is a photo of us with cream all around our mouths! LOL

Further inspiration for this Kaisercraft paper collection, and others, can be found 'HERE'.  A full material's list can be found 'HERE' for the layout, and card.  All Kaisercraft paper collections, can be found at The Scrapbook Store.....

Happy Creating
