Tiny Fingers Tiny Toes LO - The Scrapbook Store

An arty layout, created using the Graphic 45, Mother Goose, Humpty Dumpty paper.  My DT pack from The Scrapbook Store this month included some of the lovely blooms by Peetaloo, so thought I would design a layout around the moss green colour.

I've enclosed 2 photographs of the layout, the 2nd one shows off the gorgeous shimmer and shine in the  Lindy's Stamp Gang Mists.   I used the Random Star's Stencil by WOW as the background and highlighted some of the stars using a black pen (I hate doodling as I always muck them up and if I could, I would remove the black LOL).
The title is a gorgeous chipboard piece by Scrap FX called Tiny Fingers and Tiny Toes, it was perfect for this LO - I have an envelope stuck to the reverse side of the LO, and enclosed is a series of photographs of Jesse's hands and feet as a baby. I used various mediums to paint the title, and then highlighted with Lindy's Stamp Gang Mists.
One of the larger Prima Marketing, Mechanical  Washers was cut in half, and used to edge the photograph.

Jesse looks so adorable in this photograph, so tiny... where have those years gone?

Enjoy your day and thanks for visiting..

Timeless Moments Layout - Blue Fern Studio's Challenge Sketch

I managed to get a little creative this weekend gone, and got to use some newly purchased chipboard from Blue Fern Studio's.  It was hard to pick which piece to use, but the 'Fancy Fob Watch' won.

I have joined in with the Blue Fern Studio, September Sketch Challenge this month. You can find the details 'HERE', and the sketch below.

The image I have used is from a vintage cabinet card, they were very popular in years gone by - and always the most gorgeous, dreamy, images.  With the touch of blue in the image, I actually used some of the Blue Fern Studio packaging beneath the image, as it matched perfectly.  It really does have a gorgeous design on the packaging and I will be hoarding other packs, to re-use as well.

I was very impressed with the quality of Blue Fern Studio's chipboard elements, it is a nice thickness and really took a beating with several layers of embossing/heat,and then paint as well.   I also, used a 'word' stamp across the chipboard, just to give a little more character to the piece.

The papers I used, are left over from my DT kit from The Scrapbook Store - FabScraps, Shabbylicious paper collection.  A full materials list can be found at the end of my post.

The background, was created using a hand-made stencil using the Silhouette Cameo, and some acetate.  It was an interesting process, and one I would attempt again.

Thanks for calling in for a visit, hope you have a wonderful day/evening..

Truly, Madly, Deeply Shabby LO - The Scrapbook Store - Scrap Around the World

Hi Everyone,

This is my first creation for The Scrapbook Store this month, using the beautiful Shabbylicious paper collection, by FabScraps.  I absolutely love this paper collection - the soft hues of blues, greys and pinks (pinks will be shown soon).

I used the new WOW  Flourish 1 Stencil, to add some texture to the background paper. You can find the complete collection of stencils available 'HERE'.  These particular stencils are clear, and are made of a thicker and harder material than other stencils I have played around with previously.  There are some gorgeous patterns available...

Also, for September I decided to enter Scrap Around the World, Challenge.  The challenge details can be found 'HERE'.   Firstly, I used the mood board (below) as inspiration, the image of the young girl holding no doubt a parents hand - love is obvious.  So I created a layout based on my love for my son, Jesse - I journaled extensively on the back of my layout on this topic.  Then, I also used the monochromatic colour pallet of the mood board also, and created in a whimsical, shabby chic manner.  Who says a boy layout cannot be pretty!! LOL

I used the Truly, Madly, Deeply chipboard title, by Scrap FX - painting it in white and highlighting edges on one side like a shadow with Waterfall Stickles.
This month I have made a promise to myself to start using some of my odd flowers up in my stash, and have successfully incorporated a pile into this layout from Green TaraManor House, and Prima Marketing - all brands are available at The Scrapbook Store. Bandage Gauze was used to soften around flowers....
...I will be back with 'pink' ... sometime very soon..
Enjoy your day/evening

The photograph is of my Uncle Malcom and Aunt Pam on their wedding day.
The title was created using The Scrapbook Store's own chipboard line - Scrap Words, in Burnt Cream.  Prima flowers, Peetaloo, velvet Hydrangeas and leaves, along with Green Tara, Heirloom Blooms flowers.... and some printable butterflies, to decorate.
....and, added in some extra visual elements using Kaisercrafts, Grid Stamp.

My Favourite Things Canvas - Zeus and Zoe Challenge

Denise and Norma, from the Zeus and Zoe DT are hosting this months challenge.  The theme is based on the song 'My Favourite Things', by Julie Andrews.  I must admit, I was singing that song over and over in my head after Norma and Denise came up with the theme!!!  You can find all details below this post, and the wonderful prizes that are on offer.

I created a 6" X 6" canvas, using papers of various types and die-cut shapes by Donna Salazar Designs, and incorporated some gorgeous elements from my Zeus and Zoe DT kit - including: Lace, Charms, Necklace Pieces, Pearls, Buttons, Flowers and more.  You can find all the kit goodies for Zeus and Zoe 'HERE'.

I also included journaling on the reverse side listing all of my favourite things, which include, but not limited too....
Rainbows - hence the colour in my canvas
Creativity - scissors, papers
Pearls - Old Necklace
Buttons - oh so many, my collection is huge
Trinkets - Eeep, I'd hate to say how many of these favourite things I have.
Butterflies - a huge favourite
Keys - I have a fascination for them, I have no idea why
Lace - I have been collecting since I was very young
Gold - I should be really rich LOL
Cats -  My best friends for life....

There are many items I did not add :-)
I had to give the cats some new 'bling' eyes....so cute!
The canvas has some of the gorgeous Donna Salaza Designs textured and plain papers, all ripped and mod- podged into place.
The colouring was completed using Gesso, Starburst Sprays, and a touch of Gold Shimmer Stick, then lightly sprayed with a sealer to protect.
I gathered some of 'My Favourite Things', and got to work in adhering to the canvas.
My inspiration for this project is from Arlene, From Butterfly Kisses.
I will be back later in the month with another creation to share,
till then, hope to see you join in the challenge...

Treasure - Layout - The Scrapbook Store

My last layout for The Scrapbook Store this month is a photo of a past relative - as far as I have worked out to date, she is from my Maternal side of the family.  Her name was Mary Genders (Westbrook) and was born in 1860 in Hobart, Tasmania, and died 3rd of June, 1950.  She looks rather sour, but I guess that is the era the photograph was taken. I'm looking forwards to learning more about this lady and writing her 'story'.

The Carta Bella 'So Noted' - Script and Scribbles paper was perfect for the background, and I aged further by applying Liquitex Glass Beads, mixed with gold paint, mists, crackle stamp, and inks  -
The Glass Bead medium is an amazing medium and leaves the most glorious texture of tiny glass beads.
Burlap Hessian was added beneath the photograph and papers.... and a range of Green Tara flowers, lace, and roses were used to decorate.

There is still time to take part in this months challenge sketch, details can be found 'HERE', and loaded into The Scrapbook Store 'Gallery' - come join in the fun of the challenge, with a chance to win a fabulous prize of a $40 store voucher, with free postage.
Hope to see some familiar faces in the challenge...

Zeus & Zoe April Challenge - Life as it is now Mini Album - Video

Hi Everyone,
This month I am doing the April challenge on the Zeus and Zoe Blog!  I'd love to see some familiar faces join in with the fun, and there certainly are some fabulous prizes to win....

The main aim of scrapbooking is to turn out photographed memories, into stories that can be passed down through generations.  Often, those creating the stories of the photographs, are also the photographers, and more often than not, are not in many photographs themselves. I know I am one of those people, and even though I scrap about my childhood, I rarely scrap about myself as the person I am today and who I am.

The challenge this month will be to create and journal a project about 'life as it is now', the subject being 'you as an individual'.  There is much interpretation in the depth of how you can create, whether it is a canvas, a mini album, or a scrapbook page.  You can add as much detail as you wish, and about what topics you want to share about yourself - this is totally up to you.  Hidden journaling for personal information is fine - quite often I will write my journaling, add to an envelope and adhere this to the back of my project creation.

There is one additional requirement for the challenge, and that is to incorporate the use of buttons into your creation.  Everyone has a button stash, and in our DT kits from Marivic were some truly amazing, vintage buttons I have been just itching to work with....

I have created a paper bag, mini album. The post was going to be extremely graphic intensive, so I created a video to show all of the album.  This project is a work in progress, and still has a fair way to go for completion.

I really hope that my mini album inspires others to take part in this months challenge....and be in the chance to win some fabulous prizes too!!
Have a creative week..
Sandie
