Truly Lucky Layout - The Scrapbook Store and Once Upon A Sketch

..and now a pink version of Shabbylicious, by FabScraps for The Scrapbook Store this month.  A background full of texture, including the Chicken Wire die from CLD's... each little joining section has a tiny pearl bead.  I used a piece of cardboard from the packaging of a dinner set.  The cardboard is gorgeous and soft and easy to rip and manipulate.

Lindy's Stamp Gang Mists were used to colour the background.

The vintage lace leaves, have been edged in Victorian Velvet Distress Ink - so pretty.

This month, I have joined in the Once Upon a Sketch, Challenge.  The topic is 'Lucky', with a lovely sketch by Nadia, seen below.  You can find all the challenge details 'HERE'.

The photograph is of my daughter Amanda - another 'selfie' (I love me) taken on her mobile phone... gotta love her!!!  It is a good way for me to get photographs of her, I just pinch them off Facebook! LOL Amanda is a beautiful, young woman, both inside and out... and she is the Mother of my first Grandson.  We speak 'daily' and when I say daily .... its more like several times a day. She has the warmest heart, and would reach out to help anyone, whether she knows them or not.  I'm very proud to call her not only my daughter, but also my best friend.  I am truly lucky to have such a precious, loving daughter...and I miss her terribly.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for calling by for a visit.

Vintage Inspired Baby Card Tutotial/Video - Cheery Lynn Designs

Hi Everyone,

This week for Cheery Lynn Designs I have created a baby card, using a range of Cheery Lynn Designs dies.  This card would certainly look beautiful in pink or blue!  I used the Oval Classic Stacker Series, to form a frame, and dressed it up using ribbon.
The images are from  NiceCrane Designs, using the Bessie Gutman Pack.  A range of high quality, beautiful images, ready for printing and adding into your creations.  You can also find a huge variety of many other image packs on the NiceCrane Designs website, and follow along with the NiceCrane Designs Blog, with lots of inspiring design team projects. I am doing some design work, as time permits, and having a wonderful time using the images available.
I have completed a full tutorial on how to make this card from start to completion.  Also, for those on a slow internet connection, I have shared the basic instructions on how to form the frame, below.

Instructions:
1. Use a small piece of blu-tac between Oval Classic Stacker Series dies to hold them together.  This stops dies moving and you will achieve an evenly cut frame.

2. Die-cut your frame from chipboard, using the Oval Classic Stacker Series dies.
3. Set aside middle of die-cut to use in a future project.
5. Place a small glue dot on back of cut frame, adhere ribbon and begin to wind around the frame.
6. Continue carefully winding around frame until the whole frame is covered.
7. Affix ribbon in place with another glue dot on back of frame.
8. Die-cut Manon's Wedding Garland twice, cutting between the details as pictured above.

9. Adhere Manon's Wedding Garland to the back of the frame using a strong adhesive.
10. Insert fine lace in the same manner as above, though on the inside of the frame.
11. Use the same shaped Oval Classic Stacker that you created with, to draw around the photograph or image you wish to have featured in the frame. Cut out, and affix to the back of frame.

A simple technique, which looks very striking!

Vintage Inspired Card - Cheery Lynn Designs & Nicecrane Designs

Its been a busy time in the creating department of late.  I was asked to be a Guest Designer for Nicecrane Designs, and thought it would be nice to combine the gorgeous images, with the beautiful dies available through Cheery Lynn Designs.
The image is called 'Woman, Vintage, Fashion #1', and can be found 'HERE'.  You can also see the Blog, 'HERE' for more inspiration.

The base of my card is built on the Mini Pearl French Flair Mega Doily Series, then topped with the French Pastry Doily. The corners of the Mini Pearl French Flair have been covered using the Lace Corner Deco E, which I cut slightly for a perfect fit.

The flower cluster was created using the Miniature, Medium and Large Rose - bending each petal into shape to form the rose.  I added a few little stamens into the middle for a more realistic appearance.  Leaves from the Build A Flower #2 were used beneath the rose, as well as the Flourish Leaf Strip.  The small flowers from the Build A Flower Embellishment #2 were adhered, and seed beads added to the centres of each flower to complete the arrangement.
The challenge over on the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge Blog this week is Halloween, so pop on over and see all the DT creations, and perhaps enter yourself.  You have a chance of winning a fantastic prize!

Till next week
