Kaisercraft Design Team 2013/2014 - Exciting news....

Good-morning Everyone,

 

I have some exciting news to share this-morning, which I have found very hard to keep to myself  -  I have been busting at the seams for some time now to say something (love that term).

I made the 2013/2014 Kaisercraft Design Team!!!  I had not ever applied before, so was a totally new experience for me, but one I urge everyone to take part in, if you love Kaisercraft products - I was so thrilled (over the moon - more like bouncing around the place) to find my name had been selected.

Design Team Call - Zeus and Zoe

Zeus and Zoe Blog and Etsy shop is looking for enthusiastic, self-sufficient, and friendly new DT members. We are a drama-free team and we all work well together.

We’re looking for altered and mixed media artists, card makers, Scrapbookers and versatile crafters that would like to play with one-of-a-kind embellishments and vintage items.

As a DT member you will be required to do 2 monthly projects. This term will start in August and will end in December 2013. You will be assigned certain days of the week every month in which you will post your completed projects on our blog. During your term, you are required to do 1 tutorial.

You must have a blog and you must have good photography skills. You will also help us promote Zeus and Zoe blog and Etsy shop in social media platforms and scrapbook galleries where it is allowed.

As compensation, you will receive kits from me containing vintage items worth a few hundred dollars. You will also receive 30% off discount on my Etsy shops or any custom kits.

To be considered for this team. Send me at least 4 of your best projects, DT commitments past and present. Tell me something about yourself and why you would want to be considered for our design team. This call is open to any one, international applicants are encouraged to apply.

December 25th Layout - The Scrapbook Store DT AND Once Upon A Sketch

 This layout was created from my October DT kit, for The Scrapbook Store. The paper collection is called 'Just Believe', by Kasiercraft and can be purchased 'HERE'.  It is so beautiful, in rich hues of greens, burgundy, and creams.... AND,  has so many gorgeous elements, including Rub Ons, To/From Gift Tags, Alpha Sticker Sheet, and a gorgeous collection of Collectables, all of which were used to create this layout.   I have further creations to show in upcoming posts...

Hemp Twine, seemed to be the most appropriate manner in which to dress this layout a little more so.  Of course, I cannot do a layout these days without my beloved distress inks....or trusty 450 Adhesive!

I really wanted a grungy (not sure if the right word) appearance on the 'Wishes' Die Cut Sheet.  A wash of Gesso here and there, and then a wipe of Distress Inks aided in achieving this look.

2001 was a Christmas I will never forget, it was a time when my whole family managed to get together and it was very special.  However, bitter sweet also, as my Grandmother passed away before the next Christmas.  I was so disheartened my camera at the time decided to take horrid, dark, out of focus photographs - I was VERY disappointed and have never scrapped a layout with any of them till now.  

So I was inspired by the quote used for this months sketch over at Once Upon A Sketch. The stipulation is not only the sketch itself but also the above quote - to be interpreted in any way.  So.. in my journaling, (which is on the back of my layout, and on the tags within the layout) I have written quite personally about this particular Christmas, and that it does not matter what the photograph is like, it does 'not' have to be a perfect image, what is most important is the memory and story behind the photograph itself.  We may not have other Christmas's like this ever, but it is so important to capture, and document such a special story.  I really love this quote, as it certainly inspired me to create with not so perfect photos!

Creative Inspirations Design Team

I was so thrilled to have been asked to join the design team for Creative Inspirations Paint, and of course I accepted with a HUGE smile on my face.  So, for the next 6 months I will be painting up a storm with the most glorious of 'paints'...and other Creative Inspirations Paint products - glitter, and embossing powders.  

As most would know I have been dabbling with the paints for several months now, and seriously adore the products. 

If you want to know more about the scope of Creative Inspiration Paints, there is a wealth of information in the 'Tutorial' area of the blog which can be found 'HERE'.  Worth investigating!

And call on over to see what the other design team members have created and how they have used the products.  Also, each week there is a challenge theme, with a new challenge starting tomorrow (well for Australian's, it is today) and the opportunity to win some paint!

Exciting News, Joanna Sheen - Design Team

I have some exciting news... 

I will be joining the wonderfully talented members of the Joanna Sheen Design Team! 

My Mother has always been a HUGE fan (me too of course) of Joanna Sheen and still has many of her earlier books - they are her pride and joy! I had great delight in telling Mum my news, and she was so thrilled - so was I...

Joanna Sheen has a wonderful online website, full of various craft suplies, and also hosts free postage worldwide.  There is also the most gorgeous picture CD ROMS available, you can see them 'HERE' - Australian's would have seen some of these CD's advertised in the Scrapbooking magazines available here in Australia. Of course, there are lots more to check out...

The Joanna Sheen Challenege Blog hosts fortnightly challenges (used to be monthly) with £15 ($22-23 AUD) gift voucher to be won, and spent instore.  Also, there are regular offers throughout each month of some fabulous blog candy - worth investigating!  The current challenge, can be found 'HERE' and the theme is 'Spring is in the Air'.
