Truly Lucky Layout - The Scrapbook Store and Once Upon A Sketch

..and now a pink version of Shabbylicious, by FabScraps for The Scrapbook Store this month.  A background full of texture, including the Chicken Wire die from CLD's... each little joining section has a tiny pearl bead.  I used a piece of cardboard from the packaging of a dinner set.  The cardboard is gorgeous and soft and easy to rip and manipulate.

Lindy's Stamp Gang Mists were used to colour the background.

The vintage lace leaves, have been edged in Victorian Velvet Distress Ink - so pretty.

This month, I have joined in the Once Upon a Sketch, Challenge.  The topic is 'Lucky', with a lovely sketch by Nadia, seen below.  You can find all the challenge details 'HERE'.

The photograph is of my daughter Amanda - another 'selfie' (I love me) taken on her mobile phone... gotta love her!!!  It is a good way for me to get photographs of her, I just pinch them off Facebook! LOL Amanda is a beautiful, young woman, both inside and out... and she is the Mother of my first Grandson.  We speak 'daily' and when I say daily .... its more like several times a day. She has the warmest heart, and would reach out to help anyone, whether she knows them or not.  I'm very proud to call her not only my daughter, but also my best friend.  I am truly lucky to have such a precious, loving daughter...and I miss her terribly.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for calling by for a visit.

My Creative Scrapbook - True Love LO

I was such a cute baby!  Look at that hair-style.... I even continued this tradition with my own children, little mo-hawks.   This is my last layout/project for the My Creative Scrapbook, Limited Edition Kit for February.  What a wonderful feast of products I got to play with this month.  You can find all kit information 'HERE', and the Limited Edition Kit information 'HERE'.

My Mother waited a long time for my arrival, she had many losses and often said to me, it was 'true love' when I arrived.
The background paper was just too pretty to cut into, so I opted to use it as my base, doing a little mixed media with paints and texture paste - a few splatters of Glimmer Mists, and ink to complete.
The trinket does have words inside, though very hard to photograph with the domed glass.
I used some small glass beads to highlight in 'trails' - almost resembling a bead spill, over the whole layout.  I absolutely love this 'look' and you'll no doubt be seeing it a lot more in my work in time to come.  My bead collection is calling my name!  LOL

Fussy cut elements from other papers in the kit, became flowers - again filled with tiny glass beads.
Corrugated board and me are best friends, and I adore teaming it with beautiful patterned papers - paint works wonderfully, ink just loves soaking into the edges giving an aged appearance without much effort.  I have more ideas for cardboard.....mmmm

Well that is it for me for this month in my projects/creations for My Creative Scrapbook.  Soon another month will be here, and another kit or two to highlight.
Happy Creating

Dream Layout - Meg's Garden and Helmar

"Dream"
My project this month for Meg's Garden is a layout I created of my Mother on her wedding day.
At the moment I am working on scrapping my Mothers life, and this paper collection works perfectly for the photographs I have to work with.  My layout consists of the beautiful paper range called "The Spring Paisley Collection".  I really wanted to use several of the papers in the collection, so opted for the wall-paper look, separated by beautiful, guipure lace.   The paper 'Spring Paisley Collage' was perfect for die-cutting circles to add to the layout, teamed with some gorgeous blooms, feathers, beads and more!
My layout was put together using Helmar's  Premium Craft Glue, my very favourite adhesive of ALL time.... right from the papers, cardstock, lace, and some of the embellishments.  For dimension I used Liquid Scrap Dots, and for the Meg's Garden roses with the wire tendrils, 450 Quick Dry was used.  You can find Helmar products 'Here' if in Australia, and 'Here' if in USA/Canada
Pop on over to the Meg's Garden Blog, and Helmar's Blog  to view the other Design Team members creations for inspiration.... and to purchase the paper collection 'The Spring Paisley Collection' or other elements, visit Meg's Garden...

I will return tomorrow, with my second project for Meg's Garden....
Have a great day,
Sandie

Family is Forever, Layout - Helmar

Hi Everyone,
I wasn't really sure of how to scrap this photograph, it is a special one of my brothers and myself - one of the very few family shots that were taken of us together.

So with my trusty Helmar adhesive, I started creating, and this is the final result.  All paper elements were adhered using Helmar's Premium Craft Glue, for those in Australia and who would love to try this adhesive, it is also available in Spotlight, along with many other Helmar products.  OR, you can purchase direct from the Helmar website in Australia, or Helmar USA if in USA/Canada.  I truly love this adhesive, and not just because I am on their Design Team, but because it is a product that has never failed me in the years I have used it.  Previous to scrapbooking, I dabbled in a variety of crafts .... and 450 Quick Dry was a favourite.  I'd have to say that the reason I really 'brag' about the Premium Craft Glue, is because I can use it on everything - there is not one item it will not adhere, and it never buckles my paper!

If I want to work really quickly, I use 450 Quick Dry, for lace, die-cut flowers, embellishments, etc. Perfect, and no waiting time.

Liquid Scrap Dots was applied to add dimension in my layout.  Liquid Scrap Dots, allows for 'me' to chose the height of the elements - once dry, elements no matter what they are will never budge.

...and another favourite of mine, is the Gemstone Glue, I use this all the time.  Previous to discovering Gemstone Glue with my design team position, I really did not add a great deal of beads to my creations - they always tended to fall off!  NOW, I am in BEAD HEAVEN.... and can add 'any' bead shape, size, or weight knowing, they will be on that layout 'forever'.  Gemstone Glue is so easy to apply with the small nozzle, and once dry, is completely invisible.
See you later in the month for more 'Helmar' projects....

Pleated Flowers are a Dream with Helmar!

Hi Everyone,
I have a quick project for you this week for the Helmar 'Cards, Layout and Tags' week, using the Helmar Colour Challenge theme, for this month! For all the details of this months challenge, they can be found 'HERE'.  Projects can be uploaded to the Helmar Live Flickr Page, for a chance to win some fabulous Helmar products!

Creating pleated flowers is very simple and is made even easier with the use of Helmar Adhesives.
Firstly, for the pleated rosettes you need to cut your cardstock 5 1/2" X 3/4", and have 4 of this size to complete 2 larger flowers. Score the length of the long side of your cardstock every 1/4", and fold concertina style (like a fan). *See above and below photograph.
Once you have pleated your cardstock and it resembles the top photograph (on the left), adhere both pieces of cardstock together using Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive - so your pleated cardstock now resembles the right hand side of the above photograph.  You only need a small amount of the 450 Quick Dry Adhesive - it works a treat and dries in no time.
Next, die cut a 1" circle, and apply a good dollop of 450 Quick Dry to one side and lay flat on your work area.  Working quickly, fold your concertina flower up using fingers to hold in place, and adhere to the area of glue on your punched circle.  Hold firmly in your fingers and push into place.  I used pegs to hold, while I went onto create the next flower.
Turn over your flower and apply a light application of Premium Craft Glue to base of Sparklet, and adhere to top of flower to cover centre.  Allow to dry fully, before running a small beading of Gemstone Glue around perimeter of Sparklet.  Affix small pearl beads with tweezers into the Gemstone Glue.  Once the Gemstone Glue has dried fully, you will see no evidence of adhesive, this is a fantastic product and one I have come to 'love' immensely.
I created an Easel card, decorating in using layers which were completed by using Liquid Scrap Dots.  The die-cuts were also lifted by using Scrap Dots, to give dimension.

Pearls were added as fillers using Gemstone Glue.  Little dollops of Gemstone Glue placed randomly over the card base and top, and 3 small pearls pushed into the adhesive. *See above and below photographs.

Lots of dimension in this card, simply created, and was sooooooo very easy using Helmar Adhesives!
Have a Great Week...
Sandie

'Our Family' Album - Imaginarium Designs

Cover - Our Family IDP0002,  Long Swirly Flourish IDFL0011 and 4 Small Butterflies IDT0014
Please Note:  This post is graphic intensive.
My love of keeping memories has drawn me to exploring creating memory albums, and it now has become one of my favourite past-times.  In my 'Our Family' album, created for Imaginarium Designs, I have used a range of various Imaginarium Designs chipboard elements - not only to decorate, but also to aid in holding 'in' the memories. Most of the chipboard elements have been adhered on either sides, or one side, depending on the piece, so that tags, photographs and other memorabilia can be stored beneath the chipboard safely.

Imaginarium Designs Chipboard can be purchased through Seriously Scrapbooking, there is an amazing range available and lots of new elements that have recently been released.

Hope those that pop in to view enjoy the post - I won't go into the nitty gritty details, as it would certainly end up a novel.  A product listing is at the bottom of this post, and if anyone has any questions regarding anything I have done to complete this album, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Please call on over to the Imaginarium Design Team Blog, to view further inspiration from the wonderfully talented Design Team members!

The title 'Our Family' (IDP0002) seemed most appropriate for this album, and fitted across the cover perfectly.  The chipboard piece was painted, then highlighted by applying Stickles along some of the edges of the letters.
