Ms Malinki - September Sketch - The Scrapbook Store

September has arrived .... and The Scrapbook Store has another brilliant sketch challenge up, with a great prize for a random winner - $40 instore voucher, and free postage.  Enter by uploading your layout to the Gallery....

I have not really followed this sketch, but the outline is 'there'.... not really into mustaches, but I am flowers!  The photograph is of my beautiful cat, Malinki.  She is a spoiled cat, and has pride and place in the home as being 'it and a bit'... she has quite a story behind her, which I will reveal in future layouts.
Most importantly, she is my best friend, and I love her so much ....
September Sketch, By Melinda Spinks
Lots of splattering, inking, spraying and embossing.... I love the way the Shabby Blue, Stampendous embossing powder matched perfectly the Basecoat II, Timber paper. I also used the Aged Silver embossing powder with a Prima mask to create the texture below the photograph.  The title, 'unconditional Love' just was perfect....
The flowers were various one's I had in my stash, and seemed to match colour wise.  I really wanted to add in some pink since she was a girl, but alas ..... a reason to create another LO.   The little 'word' chipboard piece on the flower, comes from a 'word set' which is exclusive to The Scrapbook Store - they are adorable and there is quite a range available.  You can see all 'HERE'.
I'll be back throughout the month with further creations...

Remember This Moment LO and Card - Take Note Paper Collection - and Tea Party Collection Creations - Kaisercraft

Another fabulous paper collection by Kaisercraft called 'Take Note'.  I have used this collection to create a layout and card - I love the beautiful green hues of this collection, teamed with various shades of browns, totally delicious.  Lace, Wood Icons, fake stitching (my sewing machine isn't being cooperative withe me at the moment - boo hoo), layers, distressed edges, flowers created from die-cuts, peals, rubons, and more.....

What I like most about the Take Note paper collection, is the paper is suitable for feminine and masculine, modern and vintage - whatever takes your fancy really.  I also really enjoy the wording which is included on many of the paper pieces - wonderful for creating journaling, titles, or even card sentiments as seen below.

The photograph in the layout is of my Grandmother, brother and me, on one of our many trips to the Warby Ranges, in Victoria - we used to picnic there often, when we were young -  and it was a truly magical place with the Aussie plants, and animals.  I've often wanted to return, to see if it still feels and looks the same as when I was young - one day!  I remember that basket (in the photograph) and how it always had a stash of delicious sandwiches, cakes, and hot cocoa. On this particular day we ate cream buns, and somewhere in my photo box is a photo of us with cream all around our mouths! LOL

Further inspiration for this Kaisercraft paper collection, and others, can be found 'HERE'.  A full material's list can be found 'HERE' for the layout, and card.  All Kaisercraft paper collections, can be found at The Scrapbook Store.....

Wistful Beauty Layout - The Scrapbook Store

Another project for The Scrapbook Store, using the pretty Prima Marketing, Fairy Rhymes paper collection, and matching elements.  I also used a range of Green Tara flowers which are also available in store.  The journaling was completed on a tag from the Prima Tag Pad - ohhh I love those tags!!
Lots of torn paper and distressed edges... and cute metal butterfly clips, which sit neatly above the photograph.  A note or paper embellishment could be attached here, but I liked them just as they are.
I finally got to add a border from the Prima wood icon sets - these are so adorable!!!
The alpha stickers I used, come in 3 varying shapes, and colours - and also include an arrangement of words that can be so useful in layouts to decorate and tell the story.
Flowers include newly stocked Green Tara flowers, and the beautiful Solid Vine from Prima.
Don't forget to call on over to The Scrapbook Store Blog to keep up with all the latest additions to the store, and further inspiration from the design team.  The Gallery hosts lots of inspiration too, and the May challenge.... call on over for a visit.
Happy Creating
