Beautiful Memories Album...

Just popping in to share a paper bag mini album I created recently, using some papers from way back when (many years ago from the ScrapCake).  Most of the items and products used in this album are years old - I'm on a venture to use up some of my older stash.  My older stash is dwindling, but not sure my family would agree with that .. considering they think my studio looks more like a shop.

I haven't showed off all the pages, but several and I just adore the flowers, most are from Prima Marketing.  All pages include flip pages, with magnets, which enables so much more room to add photographs or journal areas.

Enjoy the weekend ...

Inspirational Dreams Mini Album - The Scrapbook Store

One of my favourite things to create is mini albums and have been making them for many years now.  I mostly use the same methods of making each album, just changing sizes, and adding various types of flap pages, and tag holders.  Most of my learning has come from you brilliant You Tubers, Kathy Orta King and Ginger, from My Sisters Scrapper.  This album I used stack the deck for adding the pages, though I really LOVE Kathy Orta's hidden hinge method.

I've used the Penelope Dee, Mother of Pearl paper collection, which was part of my design team product this month - so pretty!!  The title 'dreams' is from the Dusty Attic Word Pack #17 - you get 4 great titles on one chipboard sheet, bargain. The inspirational and make a wish are from my stash from many years ago and I just had to use as they were perfect for my album.

Out of left over papers, I created some quick cards ....

Life is Beautiful with You in it – Mini Album - Guest Designing for Meg's Garden

Hi everyone,

Long time no 'see' ..... I will still be quiet for now, till my creative side bounces back into gear.  Life has had a few hurdles..(too many obviously), but the road is smoothing out again 'now'. Just know I have thought of everyone and miss you all very much .....and in time, I will be back...

Love to all
Sandie

It was a pleasure to do some guest design work for Meg’s Garden back in Sept.  I worked with the beautiful paper collection called ‘Dreaming in the Meadows’, and due to the size of my project, included some card papers from previous collections of when I was a DT member.  The papers all matched perfectly.

Did you know that Meg's Garden is an Australian business, located in Adelaide with an online store?  The papers are designed by Denise Ann, an Australian designer.

I have been pondering over Christmas gifts for my family, (this was written back in Sept) and know my Mother just loves my Mini Albums.  I was inspired with this album, by two clever individuals – Kathy Orta, and Ginger from My Sisters Scrapper on YouTube.  Both make the most stunning of albums, and I have been itching to make one for some time.  Kathy Orta has created the hidden hinge system which I applied to this particular album, and I used Kathy’s tutorial for the album.
You can find Ginger’s YouTube Chanel 'HERE'...
and Kathy Orta’s Chanel 'HERE'...
These albums do make perfect gifts, and Meg’s Garden stocks the perfect paper sets, and embellishments for such creations.
The album itself has many hidden pockets, including side opening panels, which are held in place via magnets – ample room for photographs, and journaling and even mementos.  The photographs do not do the album justice, and do not show enough of the details, but certainly gives a good indication of what can be made.
I also used the Leafy Foliage die throughout the album for all my foliage requirements, it was perfect and a leaf shape to match each flower size.  I so love that die, and it is available at Meg’s Garden!!!

October Sketch - The Beauty Of Yesteryear LO - The Scrapbook Store

October is here, and I have no idea where September went (flashed by so quickly)!!  Another new sketch is up on The Scrapbook Store Gallery, with a fabulous random prize to be won - entry is via the Gallery and all you have to do is create.

A gorgeous sketch, by Melina Spinks - really adore those branches and had the perfect 'twigs' to use which are The Scrapbook Store's own brand of chipboard.  I opted to segregate the photograph into 3, as per the sketch - it is rather different, and I have seen this done by a few (especially lately) in my blog visits -  I actually really like it.

The Silhouette Cameo was used to create my own splatter stencil - using a SVG file, and acetate.

At the moment I am going through my 'old stash' and seeing what I can use within my layouts and creations.  It is dwindling slowly, and it is a nice feeling seeing my 'old stash' pile go down.

Hope you'll consider coming and joining in the fun of this months sketch challenge!

A Perfect Day - Forever LO - The Scrapbook Store

...and another LO featuring Classic Elegance papers from Melissa Frances, for The Scrapbook Store.  The paper elements were cut using the Silhouette Cameo, and the background was created using texture paste, and the Flourish Prima Stencil.  Edges have been embossed using the Stampendous, Aged Ivory embossing powder.

The photograph is of my Uncle Malcom and Aunt Pam on their wedding day.
The title was created using The Scrapbook Store's own chipboard line - Scrap Words, in Burnt Cream.  Prima flowers, Peetaloo, velvet Hydrangeas and leaves, along with Green Tara, Heirloom Blooms flowers.... and some printable butterflies, to decorate.
....and, added in some extra visual elements using Kaisercrafts, Grid Stamp.
 Happy Creating

Once Upon a Time - Enchanted Garden, and Sweet Pea Cards - Kaisercraft

My first layout as part of the Kaisercraft Design Team using the Enchanted Garden Paper Collection.
Lots of fussy-cutting involved in this layout...
The collection is gorgeous, full of whimsical fairies, and butterflies, through to mushrooms which are wonderful to create a fairy scene.  The photograph is of me as a little girl ...

and two cards, created with the Gorgeous Sweet Pea paper collection...I adore the colour hues of this collection, so pretty.

Uncle Norman - Layout - The Scrapbook Store

I am a little late with getting my blog posts up this month, as a lot has been taking place in the back-ground ... more news coming soon.

My design team kit from The Scrapbook Store this month included the quaint, and vintage inspired papers from Fab Scraps.  I worked with the 'Baby Bear' collection, and this is my first project for the month.  The image is of my Uncle Norman, he's probably one of funniest men alive, always a laugh and into 'something' new.  AND, what a gorgeous photograph of him as a baby.  He recently came back from overseas to spend some time with family - Mum said, 'sibling rivalry still exists at our age' - what a hoot!!
Gauze was used beneath the image and also under each of the flowers for interest - the gauze was coloured using various distress inks
The Clock Works die was used beneath each end of the photograph, this is a fabulous die - an all time favourite of mine, with so many uses.
Labelle Jade flowers were used, from Prima Marketing, and leaves were created using the foliage die. I hand-crafted 'other' flowers, using the MTF, Trio flower and leaf die, and tiny flowers to 'fill' using a Carl Craft punch.
Kaisercraft, yellow adhesive pearls were used in the centre of each hand-crafted flower, and further to decorate the flower arrangement. Also, I used the Crackle clear stamp from Kaisercraft to create an aged appearance of the outer cardstock edge.
I will be back soon, with more creations ...
till then...
 Keep smiling
Sandie

You Will Always Be My Princess LO and Flower Tutorial - The Scrapbook Store

This month for The Scrapbook Store I completed a tutorial video to complete this layout.  Also, in the video is how I constructed the flowers - the video can be found 'HERE'.
My daughter always loved dressing up and being a princess - she is still pretty much that way! The Bo Bunny - Isabella Paper Collection worked in beautifully colour wise with the photograph - so pretty.  The Petals come in a flat pack, and I adjusted with a few nips, tucks and folds to create more realistic flowers - these can be found on the video.
Hope you'll call on over for a look at the video!
