Joy to the World Layout - Saturday Sketch - Kaisercraft

Hi everyone,  today sketch #1 has gone live over on the Kasiercraft Blog today - there are some fabulous prizes to win, and a choice of sketches throughout the month to enter with.
The above layout is my interpretation of the sketch below, using the Kaisercraft - St Nicolas paper collection, which is so full of old world charm, and gorgeous colour hues.  This paper collection was perfect to scrap some of my favourite, vintage images of Christmas.  The Crackle stamp was added around the outer edges, to add a little vintage character.
I adapted the sketch a little, by adding in journaling where elements were in the original sketch... the ribbon with long tendrils instead of a banner, and also 2 larger photographs, instead of 3 smaller ones.
Hope you will consider coming and joining in the fun of the sketch, all you have to do to enter is follow the sketch, and upload to the challenge post in the comments section.

Love is a Beautiful Thing... Always LO and Prima Art Doll Tag - The Scrapbook Store

My last projects for The Scrapbook Store this month, is a layout that I created for my Mother using the Websters Pages, Modern Romance Paper Collection

The Prima Marketing, Mixed Media stamp set was used in corners and the leaves coloured using Copic Markers, and the white cardstock beneath was splattered using Lindy's Stamp Gang, Mist.
The embossing powder is amazing, I am so in LOVE with this product and brand .... the speckled pieces of pink glitter, flat white chunks and gold is just amazing.  You can find all the Stampendous embossing powders 'HERE' and the trial set 'HERE'.
Elements from the papers were fussy cut, and Silhouette SVG doily file was used beneath the photograph.... I love my Silhouette Cameo!!  The little butterflies were something I had printed off the net, and I added some Diamond Stickles to the wings to enhance.

It's A Girl Thing LO - The Scrapbook Store - Once Upon A Sketch

I have not joined a challenge for a few months, so joined in with Once Upon A Sketch, with a gorgeous sketch by Nadia.  You can find the March Challenge details 'HERE'.  The theme, is 'Its the Weekend' and the sketch is below.
For March, The Scrapbook Store sent two gorgeous collections to work with.  I used the Prima Marketing - Hello Pastel paper collection, teamed with a few elements from  Bo Bunny, including the scripted cardstock stickers, and a medium paper lace doily.
I applied texture by adding some embossing using the Bo Bunny,  Distressed Textures rubber stamp, and further enhancement by applying texture paste, using the Prima Dots stencil.
My daughter loved the weekends, up early and ready to go - unlike school days.  Her favourite past-time for weekend activities was spending time riding, or roaming about the paddocks and Pine Tree's in eager search for porcupines, and Goanna's.
I have some lovely large blooms in my stash and rarely use them, but this one teamed perfectly with the large Hello Pastel flower. Hanging from the photograph is one of the gorgeous Vintage Trinkets - quiet heavy I must add!  Various areas I highlighted using the Say It In Crystals.
I used Imaginarium Designs chipboard elements to follow the theme of the sketch, painting each element in Snow Cap acrylic paint, and then sealing for a nice shine with Glossy Accents.
Materials:
Prima Marketing - Hello Pastel - Pastry Shoppe - Sugar Cube - Parfait - Powdered Petals
Imaginarium Designs - Steam Punk Clock, and It's A Girl Thing
Snow Cap and Shell Pink - Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dauber
Misc: PC Generated Journaling, Large Petals, Butterflies, Embossing Powder, and Heat Gun

Remember My Story, Because It Is Unique - The Scrapbook Store

and, another layout created for The Scrapbook Store, using the Kaisercraft Flora Delight Paper Collection, Paper Pad, Collectables, Sticker Sheet.  I wanted this layout to be old-world looking, as the photograph is of my Great-Grandmother, at the age of 95.
I have many fond memories of my Great-Grandmother and am blessed to have known (and be related to) such an amazing woman.  Her life story, is incredible, thus why the title.  My final memories of my Great-Grandma - she was sitting in a wheelchair at the side of her beautiful garden - she was staring at my car as I pulled up to the front of the house.  As I drew closer to greet her, she was still staring at the car and asked me softly "Did you come by Buggy or Cart" - she had gone back, to her early days.   I'll always remember 'that' moment...
To age the page, I applied the crackle stamp randomly over the paper, in various coloured inks.  Actually, distress ink was applied pretty liberally throughout the whole layout.  The flowers were actually a dusky pink, but with a little Dylusions ink spray and Taupe Glimmer Mist, they came up the perfect colour.
Seam Binding is fabulous, you can colour it with 'anything' and tie the most easiest of bows.  The Scrapbook Store, has a range of gorgeous colours and at a price to please.
I cannot believe how quick this month is vanishing.  I still have one more project to show you before the month ends....

My Sweetheart - My Creative Scrapbook - Limited Edition Kit

I'm back with another layout using the My Creative Scrapbook, Limited Edition, February Kit. You can find all kit information 'HERE', and the Limited Edition Kit information 'HERE'.  Call on over to the My Creative Scrapbook blog for a month full of inspiration from the Design Team, and also many 'how to' projects.

....the layout is a story of my daughter when she was younger.  We lived on a large property in the Flinders Ranges, South Australia, and on cold Winter nights, friends and family would gather around for 'bonfire' nights.  We had a pile of old tree logs around a camp-fire site, used to cook damper, roast marshmallows, and enjoy stories and tales.  Even the animals got in on the act, enjoying the warmth of the fire - including a visiting Kangaroo every now and then.
I used a mixture of paint and stamping for the background, and elements from the kit to showcase the photograph.

I have one more project to share with this kit!  I cannot believe another month is nearly over - 2013 is rolling by very quickly!

My Creative Scrapbook - Limited Edition Kit - 'Love' LO and Mini Album

My Creative Scrapbook has some utterly gorgeous kits, they are super amazing in content and I have a totally wonderful time in creating with them!  This layout was created using the Limited Edition Kit, for February.  You can find all kit information 'HERE', and the Limited Edition Kit information 'HERE'.
The photograph is of John and myself, not long before Jesse came onto the scene :-)
So many cute little elements that really helped complete the page, including adorable little brads and buttons. I added in some texture, gauze, beaded texture paste, threads, stamping, and paint -
I love exploring mediums.
and below.... another project, a quick Mini Album I created using left over papers and embellishments, from the Limited Edition Kit....due to the length of this post, I am not showing all the pages, only a few of my favourites.

I will be back in a few days, to show you my final two layouts that I created with this fabulous kit!

Friendship Card - Cheery Lynn Designs

It's nice to be back creating with Cheery Lynn Designs dies for 2013!
I created this card a few weeks ago now, playing around with my first Tilda stamp after being inspired by the joint venture with Hampton Art.

The card has plenty of layers, starting with the Lace Square Heart Mega Doily, then just the tips of the English Tea Party showing beneath the   Circle Classic, and French Pastry base.
The smaller heart from Two of Hearts is perfect as a base for the  Sentiment Frame.
Flowers were created using the Build A Flower Embellishment #2, and Build A Flower #1.  Foliage consists of the Flourish Leaf Strip, Olive Branches, and Pine Branches.
Diamond Stickles was applied to highlight edges of the various die-cuts used.
...and pearls in the centre to create more realistic flowers...
The challenge this week over on the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge blog is 'Friends/Friendship' - call over and enter for a chance to win a $20 voucher to spend in store.
Till next week

Cherish Card and Love Kites Layout - The Scrapbook Store

Did you know there is a Design Team call at the moment at The Scrapbook Store for Copic Lovers?  You can find all the details 'HERE'.  AND, very soon The Scrapbook Store will carry a huge range of Copics!!  Register with the newsletter to see announcement.

This month for The Scrapbook Store I had a wonderful time in creating with The Scrap Cake, Sweet Childhood paper's.  The card was using left over bits and pieces from the collection, particularly the 'This and That' paper, and includes the Wooden Kaisercraft Word 'Cherish' - these are really quite gorgeous, and suitable for cards and layouts.

The image is one of my favourite stamp artists, Mo Manning, and is the 'Urchin with Bird', its a beautiful digital stamp!  This is actually one of the very first images I ever coloured, and I kept is as a keep-sake.
The Cherry Blossom die-cut was painted using a variety of colours from the Luminarte Silks Acrylic Glaze Paints. I've taken a few close up photographs, sadly anything with shimmer or metallic surface do not photograph properly.  The colour of the green is not dark as the photographs portray. These paints are extremely beautiful.

and, I also completed a layout for my son Jesse's album, again using The Scrap Cake's Sweet Childhood papers.  I have already created a mini album of this particular 'day at the beach', however really wanted to scrap a layout as well for memories sake.  Jesse loves kites. The papers were fussy cut, adding layers onto the A Child's Love paper, and to create a kite in Jesse's hand, I simply used a needle and thread, and sewed through the photograph to make it appear as if he is holding the kite.
Kaisercraft Wooden Words 'Love', was applied to the top of a journal tag, adding more dimension to the layout.  I love the colour of these wooden words, and yes, they are real wood.
The other kites were fussy cut from The Curiosity paper, and Mounting Tape was applied for dimension. Two little kite tails were created from left over papers.

I'll be back soon with 'more' creations using The Scrap Cake, Sweet Childhood Paper's.

Do not forget, that The Scrapbook Store has 20% off ALL products till  Christmas Eve as a 3rd birthday celebration!
