...and another LO featuring Classic Elegance papers from Melissa Frances, for The Scrapbook Store.  The paper elements were cut using the Silhouette Cameo, and the background was created using texture paste, and the Flourish Prima Stencil.  Edges have been embossed using the Stampendous, Aged Ivory embossing powder.

The photograph is of my Uncle Malcom and Aunt Pam on their wedding day.
The title was created using The Scrapbook Store's own chipboard line - Scrap Words, in Burnt Cream.  Prima flowers, Peetaloo, velvet Hydrangeas and leaves, along with Green Tara, Heirloom Blooms flowers.... and some printable butterflies, to decorate.
....and, added in some extra visual elements using Kaisercrafts, Grid Stamp.

Love is a Beautiful Thing... Always LO and Prima Art Doll Tag - The Scrapbook Store

My last projects for The Scrapbook Store this month, is a layout that I created for my Mother using the Websters Pages, Modern Romance Paper Collection

The Prima Marketing, Mixed Media stamp set was used in corners and the leaves coloured using Copic Markers, and the white cardstock beneath was splattered using Lindy's Stamp Gang, Mist.
The embossing powder is amazing, I am so in LOVE with this product and brand .... the speckled pieces of pink glitter, flat white chunks and gold is just amazing.  You can find all the Stampendous embossing powders 'HERE' and the trial set 'HERE'.
Elements from the papers were fussy cut, and Silhouette SVG doily file was used beneath the photograph.... I love my Silhouette Cameo!!  The little butterflies were something I had printed off the net, and I added some Diamond Stickles to the wings to enhance.

Adorable LO, and How to Colour Flower Blooms Technique - Basecoat II - Kaisercraft

I absolutely loved the first Base Coat Collection, and now Kaisercraft has released a second version, Basecoat II.

Today I have a layout and a handy tip to share on colouring flowers, which can be found below.  It was easy to create a shabby chic layout using the pale papers in this Basecoat II, paper collection.  The whole collection has so much in the creative side, I am looking forwards to finding some time to create 'more'....

I applied the colouring technique to all flowers, and then added a white wash to petal edges. I did not use the white Blooms on the layout, but the pink and the mist I used (Lindy's Stamp Gang) just deepened the colour, in variegated hues.
Punched and SVG files were used for the foliage.
...and oodles of layers, including papers, lace, and paper lace.

Colouring Flower Blooms

Firstly, you will need to gather some flowers. I used pale pink and white for my project. You will also need to get some pink Glimmer Mist.
Spray mist onto a protective mat so that it pools, as shown in the photograph below.
Hold the flower by the wire stem and gently lower into the pooled mist.
Add as much or as little mist as you desire.  I concentrate on the centre of the flower, as I adore the variegated appearance that can be achieved by simply colouring the centre of the bloom.
Dry flowers using a heat-gun or allow to dry completely overnight.
The finished flowers will all differ in colour from one to the next.  Do not be afraid to play with this technique using a variety of colours and paint/mist mediums. It also works well on other colours and even darker blooms.
I hope you have enjoyed my tip for ‘today’, very simple, yet very effective.
Have fun exploring the many options this simple technique holds for the creative scrapbook-er!!

Memories of You - My Creative Sketches April Challenge

Hi Everyone,

The April sketch challenge is up on the My Creative Sketch Blog, with a gorgeous prize to be won - prize can be seen below.  Pam (owner of My Creative Scrapbook) puts together some amazing kits - the one I worked with this month is the Limited Edition kit using Prima Marketing 'Divine' paper collection, and elements, which can be found 'HERE'.  It is exquisite.

I adore the sketch Michelle has come up with this month, and scrapped a layout of my Mother with my brother Paul as a baby.  I cherish these memories, and photographs so much.  Those that are close to me know that I lost my brother in a car accident in April, 1990 - I miss him terribly.  In my LO, there is a hidden journal pocket, and to access, you just pull the bow up. I wrote about this particular day where all my cousins and myself, sat on my Grandmother's front lawn and had a picnic. It was a lot of fun!!

The only items I added to my kit, was distress ink, crochet cotton for the buttons, a couple of Green Tara petals, white paint to colour the Prima Alpha's, and the Memories title from the Silhouette Cameo.

Do hope you'll join us for this months sketch challenge...

My Story - Layout - The Scrapbook Store

....and another layout created for The Scrpabook Store, using Carta Bella 'So Noted' paper collection, and elements. Again, I used the Silhouette Cameo, to do the edge of the paper border, the leaves, and  title.

The large bloom is from Green Tara, and The Scrapbook Store has a wonderful range of their products, which can be found 'HERE' - lots of new ribbons, flowers, lace, etc.

Jesse just loves reading.  John and I have both read to him, right from a young age, often. He has developed a love of books and one is never far from him.  This photograph was taken in August last year, in his new Elmo outfit, sitting on the front porch reading.  When he realised I was taking photographs, he then started the circus act of posing and then doing cartwheels.  Little charmer he is!
The Prima Mask 'Dots' was used to create a little more interest on the background paper.  I love this stencil, one of my very favourites - I love dots! I don't think there is a single page in my mixed media journal that does not have dots :-)
I will be back soon with more creations...

So Happy - Layout for The Scrapbook Store

For The Scrapbook Store this month, I created a few vintage inspired layouts, this is one of them. The beautiful bordered background piece, was created using a SVG file and the Silhouette Cameo.  Have I said how much I love this machine?  It does everything, except put your layout together!  LOL

The photograph is of my Mum on the far left, with some close family friends.  It was a huge event having visitors and having photographs taken, and Mum especially loved the new dresses, and having her hair done.  In this photograph, she so reminds me of my daughters.
Beautiful dusky pink blooms by Kaisercraft - Paper Blooms and Mini Paper Blooms, enhanced with Green Tara, Stranded Pearls, and gorgeous cream Lace.  I used a couple of items from previous DT kits, as they suited so well.
Lots of hidden journaling areas using Note Cards, and the Journaling and Accent Cards, including the Elements Stickers which were used as pull-tabs.

I aged the edges using the Grid clear stamp, by Kaisercraft.

The April sketch is up, you can find all details 'HERE'.  Lots of new products are in Store, and you can view all new products 'HERE'.... don't forget to call into the Gallery to see April's sketch entries, and for further inspiration from the DT.
 Enjoy your day....

Love Each Moment LO - The Scrapbook Store

Another layout for The Scrapbook Store, using the beautiful BoBunny, Isabella Paper Collection - includes the BoBunny's Medium Doilies, Petals, and trinkets. Also, I used the  Silhouette Cameo for the LO shape, title, leaves and butterflies.  What a wonderful machine this is, and certainly an endless supply of designs.
The photograph is of me as a baby, and with my Mum visiting us soon, I will get her to add the journaling which can be found at the top of the LO, where the oval trinket is.
Colour was added to the doilies and edges applying Glimmer Mist, and edges using spun sugar distress ink.
I painted the black Petals in the flower pack using snow cap acrylic paint, as I wanted a more paler colour combination - layering with gauze and teaming with tiny seed beads in the centre, and lots of Silhouette foliage.
Mod-Podge was used to 'gloss' the title.
There are lots of new products in store at the moment, each day seems to bring something 'new' at The Scrapbook Store, do visit, and sign up for the newsletter to keep up to date. The March sketch details can be found 'HERE', and entries go into the 'GALLERY' - fantastic prize to be won, so come and join in the fun!!!
Back with more soon....

Remember LO - The Scrapbook Store

I'm back with another layout created for The Scrapbook Store, again using the Prima Marketing - Hello Pastel paper collection and elements.  Lots of texture and colour to the base paper, using various mediums such as Gesso, Glimmer Mist, Distressed Textures Stamp, and ink.
I curled paper edges up slightly using  Magic Mount, and added in some die-cuts including the Ankara Doily, and Mini Fanciful Flourish.
Snow Cap acrylic paint was applied to edges of every paper element, and flowers brushed over to give that worn appearance.
The photograph is of my daughter, with yet another beloved animal - one of many.  As the journaling states, animals gravitate to her, and her to them - it just seemed a natural journey for her.
The title and fern were created using the Silhouette
Loved playing with these papers and elements
