1960 DT Layout - The Scrapbook Store and Scrap Africa Challenge

Sorry I have been so quiet of late, I haven't been too well, but hopefully will soon be on the mend.  I'm sure that it has been my creative side that has kept me sane!

I have been blessed with some truly beautiful products from The Scrapbook Store, which I will show you over the following month.  I was so thrilled that my November DT pack included papers from the Basic Grey, Lucille range, as this paper collection is perfect for several photographs I have been itching to scrap.

I am also entering my layout into the Scrap Africa Sketch No.11 Challenge, and this is my take on the sketch.  Have you called on over to the Scrap Africa Blog as yet?  It is a wonderful challenge blog, with some amazing, inspiring creations, and of course, great sketches!
My layout is a 'story' of my Mother when she was 16 (in 1960)- isn't her dress gorgeous? Mum is wearing a shell necklace, with beautiful crystals that my Father gave to her on her 16th birthday, and is now in my possession.  I wanted to tell the story, of the 'necklace' in 1960....

...So...of course my layout had to have plenty of journaling space to tell the 'tale', and this can be found neatly tucked under the lace at the top of the photograph.  I used a Banner as the tag to pull the journal card out. I did take the little wee coat-hanger off, and used the Banner on its own.

I used a variety of Prima Marketing Flowers, including the gorgeous Vibrato B - they are so sweet, and matched the Lucille papers perfectly.  I tucked in some Pins and Tags (this pack came with lots of little banners decorate with), and I added some Mixed Brads here and there to hold the banners.
One of my (many) favourite items, are 'clocks', so this layout being a time-piece of my Mothers life, I added the Roman Clock-Face beneath the flowers.
...and before I sign out, do not forget the November Sketch Challenge over on The Scrapbook Store Gallery.  The sketch for November can be found 'HERE', and there is a $40 shopping voucher to spend in store, and FREE postage for the randomly drawn winner 'each month'.
Hope to see some of you over on the Gallery!!
Sandie
