Always Follow Your Heart - The Scrapbook Store

 Hi Everyone,
January is fast disappearing so thought I better get some blogging completed.  My DT kit from The Scrapbook Store this month, included the 7gypsies Postal Collection, and some wonderful elements - I certainly adapted the paper colelction to my style, and had a wonderful time in creating.

Before I go any further, I will be doing my blog give away hopefully over the weekend.  Due to a little confusion in 'who is following', I will have to do the draw a little differently, as I have individuals who also follow via email as well.  So, I will print all the names out and get my son to pluck a winner.  I am sorry for the delay, time has managed to get away on me.

Also, The Scrapbook Store's challenge has been rolled over to the end of January, so you still have a chance to enter - pop on over to the Gallery!  The sketch, is below for those that would like to enter, with a great prize of a $40 voucher to spend in store, with free postage
My layout is of my son Aaron, who has accomplished many wonderful feats in his life, that medical practitioners said he would never do - (he has segmental, spinal nerve atrophy).  He fought so hard, to just be like the other children and he won.  He's now a young man, and still plodding along and not letting anything stop him from achieving his goals.
I used a Mini Mister to spray the paper's edges with plain water, and manipulate the edges in a way I was happy with.  Just have to be careful that the paper does not tear, though that certainly adds to the character anyhow.
Texture and a little dimension were added using the Donna Downey Mask DotsGlimmer Mist, and  Distress Ink were added to age the papers.
Manor House Creations flowers, some  Poppy Stamps dies, and The Scrapbook Store flowers.
I had a left over piece of chipboard from another creation, from Imaginarium Designs, so added this as a title (worked well).  I coloured the chipboard using acrylic paint, then used a pen to create the dots, and Glossy Accents over the top to seal and give a gorgeous shine. The Scrapbook Store Floral Design chipboard is such a pretty design, and I coloured the same way, though brushed distress ink over the side edges to age.
Lots of lovely crinkles, and layers of paper....and some hand-drawn stitches
 I'll be back soon,
Enjoy your day
Sandie
