School Days - The Scrapbook Store

Hi Everyone,
Back with another more arty layout created for The Scrapbook Store, using the 7gypsies Postal Collection, alongside a variety of mediums - including texture medium, glimmer mist, Shiva stick, distress ink, acrylic glaze, and paint.

Below you can see how I used the Studio Calico, hexagon mask, not only using with texture medium, but also as a template to draw around, and cut out the shapes.  I applied magic mount beneath the hexagon's to add dimension.
I used chipboard elements for the title, from Imaginarium Designs, which were heavily inked with distress ink, and a nice thick coat of  Glossy Accents, and again lifted for height using Magic Mount.
Nearly all my life, I have collected vintage and antique laces from all around the globe and it is about time I started using 'some' (would take me 50 lifetimes to use it all).  The leaves I coloured using glimmer mist and distress ink, so they would complement the gorgeous Kaisercraft  ribbon roses, and Manor House Creations roses.  The roses, I coloured using glimmer mist.
The photograph is of myself, in my 2nd year of school - my daughter Tayla is a spitting image of me at the same age.

Soon a new sketch challenge will be up on The Scrapbook Store Gallery.  You still have time to enter the December/January sketch, which runs through to the end of this month.  You can find all details in 'THIS' post.
 Wishing you a wonderful day
Sandie

Love the hexagons and those flowers..wow.. you were the cutest little girl so your daughter must be as well... yeah yeah!! Maybe you can do a layout of your daughter sometime in the future.. I would so love to see you do a fun girly layout!!!!!.. mmm??? mmm??? lol It would be interesting to see your interpretation and of course we know it will be inspiring as is your every layout. I am dealing with technical issues with my email account and my Websites so it is taking all my time, can't wait to get back to crafting. Hugs

You don't have to post this seeing I am stalking you, hehe! I just came in and went through at least 12 posts listing products I thought I may be able to get today as I head off to the big city!!!! I have a full page, lol.. I know a lot of it is from online sites but I may be able to find something similar at Michael's store... eeek , love shopping! I also noticed you header for your page, I love your new look! How did I notice?? Because only last week I did a badge for your blog and didn't quite know how to offer it to you not wanting to impose.. I know I am silly sometimes. I would love to make you a badge , would you be interested?? Better than paying for one!!!! That way I could show it off on my blog and people can link up to your site! Have a super day Sandie and again thank you for the amazing inspiration.. you inspire me the most in blogland... now you really can't post this! LOL Hugs

Wow, Sandie! This is amazing. I am drooling over your lifelong collection of antique and vintage laces. :)

LOVE the golden hexagons made with the mask - they look a little like they are melting, which makes them even more appealing!
