A Mothers Love Layout - The Scrapbook Store

I'm back with another layout for The Scrapbook Store, using the Carta Bella Traditions paper collection.  The background was created using the Mini Cubist template by Crafters Workshop.  The Scrapbook Store stocks a large range of these gorgeous templates, in both the 12" and 6" square - they can be found 'HERE'.  There is a vast amount of creative ways to implement these template tools into layouts, which include using Gesso, Texture Paste, or even Gelatos

My layouts normally are 'full', so I am attempting and stretching my comfort zone at the moment and trying a minimalist appearance.  It may not seen minimalist to some, but to me, the above layout is pretty bare.  I so wanted to keep adding bits and pieces!!  LOL  I discovered the below sketch #234 on the Creative Scrappers Blog. The sketch seemed a perfect layout to 'attempt' my minimalist attempt, so I entered the challenge!
The photograph is my Mother and myself.  Actually, this was taken on my first birthday.  We were visiting my Aunt Shirley and Uncle Lofty (Fathers side of family) - their house always stank of beer, it was awful.  I had a 1st birthday party, and apparently threw the largest wobbly to man-kind over the cake.  Yes, there is a photograph.

I can see Jesse so much in 'me' in this photograph.  I always thought he was a spitting image of his Dad, but I'm pleased to announce that I am 'there' in looks, even if only a little.  It is amazing how little smiles, and gestures can remind you of a relative of some sort.
Well enough from me for today... for more inspiration, do pop in and visit The Scrapbook Store Gallery, and you still have a little time to enter the challenge too!

This is beautiful Sandie, love the stencil. Your layouts, whether they are minimalist or full on, are always spectacular. And again, the story behind the photo is lovely too.
