Just a Moment Down Memory Lane - The Scrapbook Store

I'm back with another layout, created with the DT kit from The Scrapbooking Store, using the 7gypsies Postal paper collection.  This particular collection stretched my imagination in a huge way.  However, stretching oneself brings 'growth' and growth is such a good thing, right?
Most importantly, I have loved every minute of creating, even if I thought my layout/s would end up in the bin at one stage.  The Postal paper collection is really quite gorgeous, and nostalgic with elements of yesteryear that were (and possibly still) found in old envelopes, and writing pads.

The layout is of my son Aaron, at Aldinga Beach, in South Australia - we used to live there many years ago, in an area called 'The Scrub'.  Now, Aldinga Beach is so different, back then it was country, now it is part of suburbia.  The beach itself is magical, and if you go south there is a place my family called 'Secret Beach' which is where this photograph was taken.  Lots of caves, and extremely private (back then) - though, one had to be careful of the tides coming in, as once they did, there was not much time to get out (and nor a place to escape safely).
I'm exploring texture at the moment thanks to the wonderful inspiration from the other design team members, and used the Donna Downey mask, 'Dots' with some texture magic, then brushed over with distress ink. I was lucky enough to pick up a couple of Christy Thomlinson stamps, and I used the 'Cooped Up Notes' around the edges in a random fashion for a little more interest.
The title, is from Creative Imaginations 'Moments' element stickers - they always seem to have the right words.
Above, I created some ribbon ends from the papers, I really liked the various layers which were created using magic mount.
The rub-on is from an old stash I had stored away, some of them missing bits, so I picked out 'words' that suit Aaron to perfection! LOL
Close up of the detail...(below) and the cute little tag envelopes (above).
Also, don't forget The Scrapbook Store's challenge has been rolled over to the end of January, so you still have time to enter - pop on over to the Gallery for some inspiration and to enter into the challenge for a chance to win a $40 voucher to spend in store, with free postage!

Wow did you ever have a time doing this layout hey? Sandie it is gorgeous and I love those dots you inked to add texture.. I also love the layered banners and don't be surprised to see them on my cards in the near future, LOL. funny thing, when I was young we used to go to this beach and take a trail that led to a private beach, it was our favorite place and there was never anyone there and today! Well not so private..thanks for taking me back down memory lane, we use to play a game my mom played when she was young called peddly sticks, no one in our day even heard of it so it was special to us. What a little angel you have there, he is gorgeous!! Big hugs!! P.S. Thanks for all the laughs, you kill me.
