Seven Layout - March Sketch - The Scrapbook Store

It is already March - I cannot believe we are in the 3rd month of the year!  With the beginning of a new month, comes the arrival of the March sketch for The Scrapbook Store.  A great sketch by Nadia, with a fabulous prize of a $40 voucher to spend in store, AND free postage to be won.  Hope to see your 'sketch' over in the Gallery!

Suzanne from The Scrapbook Store is celebrating a very special birthday this Sunday, and to celebrate, there is 10% off using the code HB2U during checkout, including Sale Items!

The photograph is of my daughter, she turned 7 and I made a doll for her - she loved that doll so much.  I can remember taking these photos as if it were yesterday - so cannot believe where the time has gone - years in fact!
The papers are from the BoBunny 'Little Miss' paper collection - they seemed perfect teamed with some NEW Prima flowers, some trinkets and the Shabby Chic Sparrow resin I had in my stash.  I used up some old Prima 'Say It In Pearls' that I'd used partly on another LO some time ago - matched perfectly.  Weaved in some distress inked guaze in beneath the flowers, a few hand-made hat pins, and printed off some butterflies I found on Pinterest (love that site).
As I am right into using up some of my old stored laces, I added a row of Guipure lace, and highlighted it with crumpled/wrinkled paper.
See that little hidden 'Sparrow'?  At the time this photograph was taken we had a pet Sparrow called Harry.  Harry used to do all sorts of tricks, he was quite the character and all of the family adored him.  I added the sparrow, for his memory too, and all the journaling is on the back of the layout.
This month is going to be a busy one for me, so if I don't call in to say 'hi' as often, please forgive me, I will eventually catch up when life settles down a little more.  Would love to see some familiar faces join in with this months sketch!!
Back in a day or so...
Sandie

Well!! It appears your talents run deeper than we knew, that doll is gorgeous and to be honest I thought it was a real baby!!!!!! Your daughter has such sweet loving eyes and smile.. Now for your layout..Holy Moly... How clever was it to make it look unzipped!!! You truely rock!!! I love the distress look to the whole layout and love how you used the corrugated cardboard! The butterflies are so sweet and you even took your time to ink them! You must have a field day doing a layout, I could spend an hour looking at all the wonderful detail... I love the scrunched up paper ribbon behind the image and that beautiful lace . Do I see a hat pin!!!! I just ordered 10 of them of Christina over at Flowers Ribbons and Pearls...actually my post going out tomorrow is all about her... I am finally feeling better than I was and had to come in a catch up with you...hence the book!!!! hehe! Hugs

P.S. OMGOSH, Why the word verification???? I am attempting my 4th time trying to post this book! Too much spam??
